You are the man. All hail pune

I'm going to nominate you for president for the 2012 election instead of my usual vote for Mickey Mouse.

It's not pussyloader, it's called pussieloader.

giantpune you should set up a chipin widget and only release this if you reach the amount of money you desire, honestly!

(12:52:28 AM) tueidj: is it actually delivered via an email sent to the wii?
(12:53:21 AM) poon: no, its read from the SD card
(12:53:47 AM) poon: thats why there is the blue SD card thingy on the image. the system menu draws that by default
(12:55:05 AM) blasty: I didnt even know you could store mail on an sdcard *shrugs*
(12:55:37 AM) poon: neither did i till a week or so ago
(12:55:52 AM) tueidj: it's not per console encrypted?
(12:56:11 AM) poon: its signed with the wii mac address that you can see in the settings
(12:56:40 AM) tueidj: so no generic payload?
(12:57:10 AM) poon: there cant be a binary release that you just slap on your SD card
(12:57:26 AM) tueidj: that's what I was getting at
(12:57:27 AM) poon: you need the mac address to sign it and to create the right directory structure on the SD
(12:58:19 AM) Daco: poon: dir struct on sd ? /private/ etc ? :s
(12:58:59 AM) poon: it uses the wii mac address to create 2 folder names
(12:59:50 AM) tueidj: would it work via email? You said you crashed crediar's wii by sending it something...
(1:01:06 AM) poon: i honestly dont know if it would work by email. i think messages arrive "some assembly required"
(1:01:21 AM) poon: i sent crediar one by packing it up and uploading it to him

So it will require building on a per-wii basis, no generic drag-and-drop binary like most of the other exploits. And it goes on the SD card. Also, later tueidj gave him the code to add SDHC support to savezelda, so this supports SDHC. And 4.3 support is confirmed (the video was made on 3.2 cus that's what pune was on at the time).

I have no idea. Just that tueidj said it was only a few lines that needed to be changed in savezelda and he was "not talking about the hacky old SDHC method"

I see, well then why doesn't he contribute his SDHC solution to the public?

Because he doesn't write exploits. He gave pune what he needed to make it happen, so I would call that "contributing his solution to the public".

It's not public yet, but I actually meant why he didn't provide his solution in the past for other exploits if it really was so easy.

he put the code in a pastie and put the link in a room with like 200 people in it. how is that not contributing it to the public?

That's indeed public, but I didn't know you were talking about this in a public irc channel. Normally you are using private channels for this, so of course I assumed that's also the case here.

Still, doesn't explain why now and not in the past.

Occam's razor. Because nobody bothered to do it yet. Don't assume everything is a conspiracy to keep valuable code from you.

nice job pune you are officially in my book as one of the many "man"'s in the wii scene.

too bad i already got lego indy. well worth the $20, plus my friend threw me the $20 when i did his up. so technically it was free.

What are you talking about?

I didn't mean the Occam's razor part. I was talking about the "conspiracy to keep valuable code from one" part. What does this have anything to do with the topic here? Do you always conclude bullshit like this?

I hand out code like singles in a stripclub; one at a time, and don't let anyone see how much you're really holding.

(I didn't know about any other exploits until after they were released; if you're going to blame someone for being secretive, blame them.)
