Gaming Magical Starsign help!

Magical starsign is neat-o fun, it's been pretty cool so far.
What I am wondering is

Does anyone know how to perform a spellstrike or reflex guard exactly?
I can do it occasionally only

Spell strike: tap the character when the circle with his starsign starts shrinking.

Reflex guard: tap the character when it's clear that he's going to be to the target, but the attack hasn't yet landed.

Personally, I wouldn't bother too much with the latter, as it's much harder to pull off and only reduces the damage by 20% or so.

I've got the spell strike down now to almost 100% (haven't missed in a while).

You have to tap the characters Head just as the sparkley stars fade out. I thought for the longest time that I was just not getting the timing, but it's really more where you tap. If you tap their torso it probably will not work. tap their head and it works every time, there's actually a pretty large timing window (compared to like, Mario & Luigi PIT).
