so is there anyone with a solution for this. i just got my m3i zero and updated it to 1.4. I also have the latest SYTEM both stock and Sakura. Every time i close the lid on my 1.4 DSi it shuts down. this is really annoying, my budget itouch2 was working fine with this. please any pointers would be appreciated!

4.4X improved the detection between the console and the M3i. They are unrelated between the console turning off when user closes the lid and console having issue detecting the M3i after updating to 1.4 core.

So, has the team acknowledged that there is a problem? Because on m3iforums they insist they cannot duplicate. So far in my testing, I've only found one ROM that won't cause the DSi to power off when the lid is shut.

We have performed many trials trying to see if the M3i is causing the console to shut down during games/homebrew but we have yet to encounter this issue. We were able to close the lid, which goes into sleep mode and resume afterwards. We also tried different consoles as well, so we understand that while this may be frustrating for some users, however during our testing we weren't able to replicate the same error.

@g6team:

"They are unrelated between the console turning off when user closes the lid and console having issue detecting the M3i after updating to 1.4 core."

Well, if you eject a legal game card when DSi is in sleeping mode, it turn off the console
thus when DSi didn't detect M3i card it does the same. (assuming it is related to a detection fault)

Now several poeple claims they didn't have this issue before the 1.4 core update.
Personnaly, I can't tell you 'coz I only test it with a f_core.date running on a DSi 1.4

But If you confirm that it is "unrelated", I believe you ;-)

I have a small question for you (if you don't mind).
When does the swap file (SYSBUFF.SWP or swapfile.$$$) is used ?
I means - during menu/boot loading, during game, RT-save ?

I'd like to know the test parameters they are using. This is obviously a problem that is easily reproducable. The console won't shut down if it's drawing AC power or the battery is 100% charged.

It's obviously a problem with each person's m3i zero as their contacts are probably bad and when the lid closes the DSi loses connection with the M3i Zero and just like if it were to lose connection with a normal game it powers down.

I'd also like to know what hardware revision people experiencing this problem have and what revision the G6/M3 team is using to test.

Mine: M3i_V1_E0

I don't think it's a contact issue at all, due to my testing with various battery levels and AC power. As I said, if the battery is 100% charged or the DSi is charging, the issue goes away.

Seriously, this issue needs to be resolved. Some games like to use the lid in puzzles, this issue would render those impossible to complete.

It is hard to reproduce this issue if your card are no faulty.
Mime is, I think, more damaged 'coz I've got other issues
but sometime, every works fine ... even the lid issue with a low battery so ...

I was thinking of a manufacted problem like you (M3i_V1_E0 model vs G002A...)
Cf. http://www.m3iforum.com/index.php?topic=59

I have also asked which model poeple who don't have any problems are using (but not so much answer)
cf. http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=178...0&p=2236382

fyi,
Here are a video of my 1st issue :
here is a thread reported to the M3 team
- http://www.m3iforum.com/index.php?topic=53

none of my issue are offically recognized by the team and thus not fixed
and I am not alone!!!

What is missing is

a) a diagnostic tools that can trap the real error (assuming it is possible)
but if it is a card design problem ... well it's done.

b) a survey to identify if issue are pop-up with f_core 1.4
currently, we have poeple who claims that it appear with f_core1.4 or that no issue occured on a DS/DSL ... but only with DSi
but what if the flashing operation (power cable) had damaged component ?

It's a mess ... I know

why just can we start we a big SURVEY for all M3i-zero owner
- brand model (with date)
- console version (with FW version)
- do you have issue
- if yes which one
- sleep mode
- RT soft reset
- DS soft reset
- Other

Well, here's funny thing. I have 2 us DSis. The other has the same problem as occurred to almost everyone in this topic but, the other one of mine never has a problem NEVER! when i close the lid, the light still blinks, never goes off. I didnn't do anything particular at all. Just plug and play. It works freaking fine but when i tried with other DSi, it just goes off. WT..

p.s. I also tried changing SDHC and reinstalling f/w, still get the same results. Other one works soooo fine, the other still doesn't work.

@nuttah:
thanks for you comments. That's a new interesting point of view ! (I mean it's a fact)

Some users have bought new M3i-zero card to test it on their (let's say) "weird" DSi.
It will make sense, if new card produce same issues on same DSi.

I've done many tests... I have DSi 1.4, M3i-Zero card (M3i_V1_E0) with f_core 1.4 firmware, and last version of touchpod.

I realized that sleep mode ONLY works when the battery is FULLY charged.
After have played a few moments, closing the lid turns off the DSi...

Hope it will help...

It is in fact a serious problem and bad point for m3i. My DSi turns off in sleep mode, too. M3's please put your hands on that prob fast !

Fat chance, the team denies being able to reproduce the problem. I'll likely be throwing my monies at another flashcart manufacturer in the near future. I really enjoy my M3 products, and I DO hope this issue is resolved.

You do realize that this happens on acekard2i's and alot of other DSi flashcarts too right?

Please don't blame this on the m3 team if they say they can't reproduce it they really can't. And if you're planning on buying another flashcart for this then that's pretty retarded because there's topics on a few other DSi flashcarts (like the acekard2i) saying they have this same problem >.>

I do not believe it is a contact issue, sure i am not pro. but I see that with a full charged DSi the blue led starts to pulse with a closed lid. That seems to need a lot of power (trying to go enter sleep mode). And so the battery is fast empty. I dont know if im right but I want that prob to be worked on and taken for serious.
