That really odd, I have the M3 Real and the M3 Lite perfect in my DS all the time and I always get about 5 hours out of my gameplay...

RebelX, did you try using the M3R without anything in slot-2?

if you are still only getting about an hour like that, I would send it back and ask for an exchange (after I made a mark on the original, just to make sure they didn't just ship it back to me)

I can confirm this problem.

M3Real w/ triple boot firmware

If I run with the M3 GBA expansion in place, I get only an hour, to an hour and a half of charge.
If I run without the GBA expansion, I get over three hours.

My conclusion: The GBA expansion is a charge hog.

Ok, the results are in, I took it off the charger at 6:30 PM earlier today and it finally died about 5 minutes ago at 11:30 PM! 5 HOURS!!! YAY!!!!

I played Pokemon Diamond at the 2nd light setting nonstop, with the GBA Expansion Pack in, all that time and I did not turn off my DS once! So now I know that the GBA expansion pack was the culprit.

Thanks for all the help you guys!

If I were you... I'd return it. That is seriously fucked. I have my M3Lite Perfect in Slot2 w/my M3Real ALWAYS, I mean ALWAYS... it does NOT effect my DSLite's battery at all. 6+ hours @ level 2 brightness.

i think the ez-flash 3 in 1 sucks about as much power from your DS as a pokemon ruby cart would.
it's treated as a normal game card untill you tell it to be something else, so it would only drain battery life if you'd set it to ram/rumble mode when the game doesn't support it.

it will always drain a bit, but it won't take off more than 10% of your gaming time.(as opposed to the 70% or so the m3 expansion takes)

it MIGHT be related to Sakura. Sakura uses the GBA ExpPack for caching, and is the first to be booted by the triple loader. As such, it WILL enable RAM, even if you choose a different Firmware later.

actually, m3's expansion RAM and rumble functions are ALWAYS enabled.
i know since rumble even works with real gamecards, and ram works on R4 too.

i gave my rumble-ram to a friend who has an R4, because i got an ez-flash 3 in 1.
and he could use the opera browser.

The Nintendo DS browser fails at least on CycloDS Evolution + GBA Expansion Pack (without ExpLoader), and Homebrew RAM does not work either.

Hey I have a question is the EZFlash 3-in-1 any good? Someone said earlier that it does not suck the battery dry like the M3DS expansion does and I might get it... Also, does it fit well? My expansion fits but it sticks out about a half millimeter and its really annoying...

Thanks in advance!

the gba expansion doesnt take off 70% of battery life. my ds lasts at least 4-5 hours, and it is over a year old
