Hacking M3 Lite and nds games

I cannot get Simpsons and zelda (both nds games) to work on a m3 lite. I have updated My mates M3 Lite to version 35e
I have a ttds and the games work fine on this.

Can anyone point me in the right direction or is the M3 lite to old to work the newer type of games.
I do not know much about the M3 lite

i have just pulled a known working rom of zelda off of my r4 and flashed it to my m3 lite. it loads up fine, plays fine, no problems at all. i am also using the 35e (most current) firmware and the v35 game manager software.

my msd is a kingston 1gb TF japanese formatted at fat 32.
i flashed the rom with no extra stuff, no hacks, cheats, tricks, trimming, etc.
