Hacking Luma and B9S on n3dsxl update or not?

i am going to put a luma cfw on my 3ds and as i am reading from the guide, in section 2 of the last page it says to update the firmware but i dont want to.is it possible to complete the process without updating or it is necessary?thanks

Once you have CFW, sure.

Not necessary but it's highly recommended.

Edit: Here is a link, but if you install CFW from that guide, you'll already have the latest version of B9S.

how to check if I have cfw?im on 11.2.will something change in this for example cfw 11.x?

Press Select while booting, which will trigger Luma's configuration menu, or press L + Down (D-Pad) + Select while on 3DS Mode (HOME Menu, 3DS games) to trigger Rosalina menu.

And no, nothing changes if you have CFW, just game compatibility.
