Well, we knew there was going to be a *new* Lufia game on DS. But now it has been confirmed to be a remake of the SNES game, Lufia 2. Yeah yeah, remakes and all. Except that Lufia 2 happens to rock your socks and is the best game in the series (which admittedly isn't very large).
EDIT- 4 Hot new scans!!!

But ok, here are the details-
- remake of Lufia 2 (including Maxim, Gades)
- Now an ACTION RPG (no more random battles or turn based gameplay)
- 3D visuals
- voice acting
- action on the top screen
- map on the bottom screen, as well as faces of party members
- tap a face panel to swap out party members
- swap characters mid-combo while enemy is tossed in the air
- boss fights take place on both screens, but your character stays on the bottom
- puzzle-driven dungeons that have you switching characters for specific elements
- due out Feb. 25th in Japan
- Developed by Neverland
EDIT- more details:
- Square-Enix requested the game
- dev team says it's not a port or direct remake
- different world from the SNES version
- Wave Device is a key element
- expect to use the dpad more than the stylus
- tough, but not too tough bosses
- 'growth of the RPG'
- scenario is based on Lufia II, will have lines that are the same as Lufia II, but overall the game is being rewritten
- town number differs from first and second game
- returning music from first and second game
- improved sound quality
- once again, original staff reconfirmed
- retaining "xxx of Magic" and "Magical xxx"
So yeah, that could turn out to be a bad thing making it an action RPG. We'll see though.
In other things, fans may know that Lufia 2 was actually the PREQUEL of Lufia 1. So there's a possibility of a remake of the first game, which I actually love.
There is one small scan to be found here if you can see it-
If not, here it is uploaded here-
