Hacking lost been out of scene for a while

So i have not been keeping up to date, and im kinda regretting it.

Basically the last time i was on the best and newest was gamma 0.3 with rev 7, and a safe wii update to 3.3, and a few choices of channels to save going through hbc

i see theres a usb loader that would be helpful.. but i have read alot and really id just like to ask a few questions.

what would be the recommened updates?

how would one do them? ..(usually instructions dont tell you wether to update every single update or straight to the newest one*)

there are so many usb loaders... can i get a recommendation?

and maybe brick rate? has there been many? few? basically if its reeeaally risky, dont recommend it

woah, yea iv seen alot of names, any way on skipping wat doesnt matter? i think i read gamma 0.3 is still good/safe... so i think i can skip preloader cioscorp, and soft mii? i dont know wat bootme is yet.. and 4.0 there is no way yet i thought?
