also, this usb loader gx I'm using.... it can play gamecube backups off discs, right? is there anything special needed or just a standard imgburn on a standard dvd-r? i hate those little mini discs annd the gamecube cases XD

Just burn it on regular dvds. You should use GCOS to put multiple games on 1 disc.

Did you install bootmii to boot2? If you did, then pretty much nothing other than a boot2 update will get rid of that and you would be able to restore the NAND backup. If you were only able to install bootmii IOS, then as long as you don't do something that kills priiloader, you can still load bootmii IOS and restore it, but generally there would probably be a better option to fix whatever you did if you still have access to that much anyways.

yeah, just remember not to update because nintendo may release a update that overwrites boot2 but other than that, you are pretty much brick proof.

When you turn on your wii does it show bootmii when the sd card is inserted ? That means you have boot2.

hmm... actually, tried loading bootmii through priiloader, and that didn't work either. apparently after making the backup, bootmii died...

aha that did it, thanks. looks like it is indeed on boot2

shame you can't navigate bootmii with the wiimote, but not a huge deal I suppose

If your bootmii folder is removed from your sd card, then bootmii cannot start.

if you copy the bootmii folder back on you sd you should be fine and you will see bootmii on startup.
if not, look at the bootmii.ini and see, if it has the proper TV mode and a delay set up, otherwise you might still not see it.

you can by the way safely keep your bootmii folder on you computer and only copy it back on your SD if you want to make a new NAND backup or restore an old one.

I would suggest you keep the first NAND backup you did (nand.bin keys.bin) in a safe place just in case you get any problems and your recent backups are faulty.
