Also, cool they bothered with a knock off cart. The original R4 (or the clone of it, which were common until around 2010 or so) is completely different in terms of design.

While it's certainly not directly connected to the original R4, both (plus the r4i-dsn) are the only flashcards to have an official Wood kernel

Can confirm Wood's soft reset also works in some homebrews (not Moonshell 2.10 unfortunately but no huge deal, I have flashme)

And, I bought one of the last 100% accurate R4 clones two years ago - while it has the questionable "side grips" card shell seen on most of today's flashcards and not on the true R4s of their time, the circuit board inside claims to have been made in 2007!

That explains a lot - I remember having to get my R4 back in 2010 when AKAIO was stalled out and my R4 could play new releases but my AK2 couldn't and I dropped the R4 probably right before Wood got released sometime late 2009.

Going to check the board on my R4. I just assumed it was a clone but I want to know if it is the legit one or not.
