Hi, looking to download eNDryptS Advanced v1.2 but the link in downloads isn't working and I'd prefer to get it from a trusted place rather than a site that I can't be sure will be safe. Any advice/help would be appreciated.

Finally found it.
Just in case anyone else needs to get a download from the site and it provides you a dead link to Filetrip, all of Filetrip has been archived on the way back machine. Can't post a link to it cuz new but just google Filetrip Wayback machine, the first site should be FileTrip - Archiveteam. That site has a link to the Filetrip archive on the Wayback Machine at the bottom. It can be annoying to sift through the archive since you cant use the archived sites search feature, but the downloads are there you'll just have to look.

Nice to know some more of filetrip got grabbed (it is likely to be the earlier stuff and stop after a rejig of the backend)
The original location most would have found it is
https://web.archive.org/web/20220601000000*/https://no-intro.org/tools.htm which leads to https://web.archive.org/web/2021070...adat/tools/eNDryptS_Advanced_v1.2_NDS-iND.zip
No intro are still around and doing good stuff https://no-intro.org/ but they seem to have dropped the download page some time last year (I used to send people there for copies of GBATA and ndsts, eNDryptS I guess as well but aside from the 5 days one of the flash cart firmwares and some dumpers thought it was a good idea there is minimal use for such a toy.).

Good to know in case I need something else from there (which I might admittedly). Question, is there any one I can ask to fix any of GBATemps broken downloads if I come across any, or is it basically considered obsolete?

If you want a file then by all means make a thread (don't think we have a general one). I still have my old hard drives from around the time a lot of things were being uploaded (a large chunk of things being another_world and myself) so can probably get a lot of it. A lot of things originally on filetrip should still work (to go a bit further filetrip was initially populated from the GBAtemp downloads section which in turn was a response to the old front page upload option becoming untenable as DS homebrew rolled on, it then morphed into a more general download site which is probably where most of the existing breakages happen now it got rolled back into GBAtemp's present download section).

Equally between the internet archive, http://nintendo-ds.dcemu.co.uk/ , https://pdroms.de/news/nintendo-nintendods-nds-ds/ , https://nintendo-ds.logic-sunrise.com/ , https://www.gbarl.it/ , https://www.gamebrew.org/wiki/List_of_DS_homebrew_applications , https://gueux-forum.net/index.php?/forum/350-ds/ , https://www.elotrolado.net/foro_nds_132 , https://www.metagames-eu.com , http://www.playeradvance.org/forum/pap.php (though much of that probably needs internet archive to get to the really old things as it got reborn at one point), https://web.archive.org/web/20080306054134/http://www.nintendomax.com/ , https://gbadev.org/demos.php?listby=date and indeed much DS and late GBA stuff being shoved onto source repositories (granted the death of google code took out more than would have been ideal) rather than personal websites, ISP provided things, geocities (neocities et al sadly capturing very little of homebrew whenever I go looking), lycos and other now known to be far more ephemeral sites. Certainly there are still those things that might have only appeared on rapidshare and what would come to be known as file lockers and maybe specific versions did not get spread too widely but eh.

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM

  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm

i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds

It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
