it works fine on computer?
You said it doesn't mount in loadiine GX2, but does it work with Homebrew launcher or with ftpiiU?

You could try to reformat it with Panasonic SD formater (it will make it exfat as there's no option in that program to choose the format, it's said to format it correctly, not sure if proven).
Then try formatting it back to FAT32. You could try 32k/cluster too.

Yes thank you that worked. i formatted the sd card with that program first then re formatted it with fat32 and it was detected. Weird that windows formatted with exfat didnt work, but this program worked.

Thanks

Ah, I didn't put a lot of faith in fixing it by formating with that program, I'm glad it worked.
I guess that program is really doing something that the OS isn't.

This seems to be a growing issue with larger (128GB+) SD cards. I just got a new Samsung UHS-I 512GB SD card, yesterday, and I tried formatting it as FAT32, with both 32k and 64k clusters, and I consistently received the "SD Mount Failed" error message. I used the same formatting tools I've used recently for my 64GB Sandisk, which worked very well in the past.

At the moment, I've just re-partitioned and re-formatted my new card with a different tool (EaseUS Partition Master Free), and I'm in the process of transferring files to the card now. The transfer speeds on the computer are decent, so I'm hopeful that this time it will work properly on my Wii U.

If your using an sd card 64GB - 512GB and you want it formatted Fat32 then use the gui format tool from this link guiformat.exe don't use windows or anything else, its always worked for me and its a lot easier/straight forward. Select max setting 65536 from the allocation drop down box and do a full format uncheck quick format option.

Yea I used that program before as I already had installed on my computer lol, I believe I used it to get rid of emunand from gateway formatted SD cards. I was trying loads of other programs just glad that worked!

Lol no I formatted it fat32 at first which after copying 80gb over it didn't work. By default it comes with exfat but I've used loadiine before and the many many tutorial state fat32 lol :)

I tried easeus as well but it didn't work so I would suggest copying just the loadiine gx2 and testing before copying backup games over. I wasted so much time before

I used RidgeCrop's GUI fat32format utility for my 64GB card, and it worked well. Using it for my new card, however, gave me the "SD Mount Failed" error message.

Try that one instead, its never failed me to date and that goes for 3x64GB's and a 256GB sd card. Have a go you never know? :) I know they look the same gui but not sure if they are though?

Edit: they are the same, sorry I got my link from somewhere else I didn't realise.

Good Tip! If what I'm doing doesn't work, I'll be sure to try it this way, next time. Thanks.

Just buy and copy lots of files on a 128Gb Sandisk with 64k clusters... Sd failed... I´ll give a try on this tool, you recmmend 32k or 64k? Thanks!

Edit: It works now, but only formatting by Panasonic´s tool and then using guiformat. And, in advantage I dopn´t know how but formated some of my HDD ;(

Thank you guys.

My new SD card is from SanDisk. It says UHS-II with 260MB/s on its cover.
I tried formatting it as FAT32 with no luck, just to see Loadiine GX2 say SD mount failed.
(However everything under vWii is working fine)

Finally the issue was solved by using Panasonic SD formatter (with GUI) first and then the fat32format.exe (a command-line tool).
I also specified the cluster size to 64K with -c128 in command line in the second step with no problem.

Now I am using Loadiine GX2 with the super fast new SD card. Games are loading much faster now.
Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water was loading several minutes before each chapter before. But now it is just several seconds.

Thanks again. Hope all of you could enjoy your WiiU with a super fast UHS-II card.

Just wanted to let know that this:

Worked for my 32GB Sandisk on my 5.5.1 WiiU ;)

  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
