Hacking Load Homebrew Channel From Dash

It seems you forgot to move Haxchi back to the Wii U's flash memory.

Plug the flash drive into the Wii U and Move Haxchi to NAND/System Memory? That's what I missed?

I read it as, if it works then copy to NAND/System Memory
Finishing
Now just connect the USB back to the Wii U. If you run the game HBL should be opened instead.
Now with HBL access it is recommended to move the game back to the NAND and reinstall haxchi again with the regular Wii U installer.

I copied Haxchi from the USB back to System Memory and launched Haxchi (did not hold any buttons) and it booted to the "Home" screen of the Wii U, it did not boot to HBL :(
By default it should boot "wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf". If that file does exist then you should probably try again with a clean DS game.
If you want to keep your current Haxchi just in case, just use another USB drive or move Haxchi to USB, create an image of the drive using Win32DiskImager then format it and download the game from the eShop.

Whatever you do DO NOT FORMAT YOUR CONSOLE, otherwise your SEEPROM and OTP keys will change.

On my sd card I have the below path -> which seems to mirror what you say it should launch
SD\wiiu\apps\homebrew_launcher\homebrew_launcher.elf

I will say tho that on my SD Card I also have a Haxchi folder with a config.txt of not default booting HBL. Could that possibly be interfering with the "Haxchi" I just copied over to System Memory? Or does the Haxchi folder on the SD Card play no part in what occurs since I am booting Haxchi from system memory?

I don't think the config.txt on your SD card is interfering in any way, but you should fix it just in case.
I think the old config is still in the modded DS game's folder. Delete Haxchi (or move it to a spare USB drive) then download a clean copy of the game and patch it with the PC installer again. It should work.

I just...
Moved Haxchi from System Memory to a backup Flash Drive
Downloaded from the eshop Kirby Game
Powered Down Wii U
Plugged in Flash Drive 2
Formatted Flash Drive 2
Moved Kirby Game from System Memory To Flash Drive 2
Powered Off Wii U
Plugged Flash Drive 2 into PC
Ran haxchi-pc-installer --image \\.\PHYSICALDRIVE1 --otp otp.bin --seeprom seeprom.bin
Unplugged Flash Drive 2 from PC
Plugged Flash Drive 2 Into Wii U
Powered on Wii U
Moved Kirby from Flash Drive 2 to System Memory
Clicked Kirby from "Home" screen of Wii U
Virtual Console attempted to load saying it was loading Kirby
Screen goes black
Screen flashes black
Screen stays black with a -3 on the screen

Disregard my above -- if I could follow instructions and have my SD Card plugged in it will work as it is supposed to. Sorry for my oversight on that one guys!!

Onto a more serious note, should I just install CBHC at this point?

I'm glad you finally got HBL working! :D

No, you should NEVER install CBHC over Haxchi. I suggest you just stick with Haxchi, since it's a lot safer.Actually, you MUST install it over Haxchi. I don't recommend it anyway since there is still a risk.
By the way, it is recommended to reinstall Haxchi using the regular Wii U installer.

Thank you for the words of wisdom above. It has been so long since I installed Haxchi in the first place, is this still the "good" tutorial to follow to re-ionstall Haxchi using the regular Wii U installer?

I wouldn't be so absolute. A lot of people have been using CBHC without issue for months including myself. Its very easy to be safe if you follow directions.

If your going to say something like "NEVER install CBHC" then you should preface it with "it is my option that.." and end it with "and here are the reasons that I have this opinion"

Sorry, it was the other way around. You should actually only ever install it over a Haxchi installation.

Is there anyway this fw img can help me as well? I'm on 5.5.2 and have never installed haxchi but would now like to. I didn't back up my 2 .bins same as the OP. And I have a legit DS game. Starfox command

You can't because you don't have any way to get your hands on your OTP and SEEPROM. The OP had Haxchi so the OP was able to get those files via some kind of fw.img.

Not even if I have the original fw.img I used when I first nodded? Dang

This depends. What did you do when you first "modded"? Do.you have HaxChi? I'd not then you need otp.bin and seeprom (nand backup) or redNAND. What do you have now?

No Haxchi
And I think the only backups I think have is band and keys which is viiwii right? Cause no 5.5.2 downgrade for me

How could I tell if I have rednand?

How could I tell if I have rednand?

If you don't know if you have redNAND, you probably don't have it. You'll only have redNAND if you intentionally turned it on in Mocha CFW's settings page.

What the heck is "Dash", a new MK exploit? I tried searching for it, nothing.

I may have been using the incorrect terminology. What I was wanting to do was launch HBL from the "Home" screen of the wii u. The screen that loads as soon as you power on your wii u
