Hardware Little Square Nut

What is the point of that little square nut inside the wii? I forgot exactly where it is but if you open up the wii and take it all apart, you come across a little square nut that seems to do nothing. Anyone know what this is for besides to hold the space for where it sits?

Yup. You'll find the same kind of nut in the Gamecube, the GBA, and the GBAsp.
