@Mariko Is right. is not much different than what i did. I just used a hex editor. And changed the value, that is all.

All of the information needed is present in the post I linked. You should have read it instead of asking. The author even lists what values you need to put in to force the GBC mode on GBA. The offset is listed as well, of course.

I did read it and have no idea how to use the ASM values it lists.

What are you talking about? Before the asm values, you have the offset, followed by hex values. He even lists them second time at the bottom.

"If none of this means anything to you, all you need to do is go to 397B in your Shantae ROM with a hex editor and replace "CB 20" with either "06 02" (force GBA mode) or "06 00" (force GBC mode)."

Altered color pallet. Think that is about all. I noticed nothing else. Maybe performance enhancement?
