Can you run cia installer without gateway mode? i accidentally updated my system to 9.4 an I downloaded the cia launcher before. Can I still install cia files with my sd card? Should I wait for 9.4 support (it must come sometime right, for new 3ds amiibo support)? Will cia launcher still show up? Also I tried to see what firmware the new 3ds is released on by de-demoing majoras mask demo to get to the system menu, and it didnt work :glare:

Did you make a NAND backup? If so you can't do or get done a hardware mod to downgrade. If not you are screwed.

9.4 support has not been hinted at by GW. Based on history you may be waiting a very long time for 9.4 support.

OMG I did make a NAND backup when I first used my gateway! Can I restore it somehow?! Can you give me some kind of direction on how I can restore my nand backup? That would be great!

Restoring your nand requires a hardware mod. If you have soldering skills you can do it yourself, if not there is someone here in the states that can do it for you. Can't recall the name but starts with an H. You will just need to determine if it is worth the cost or sell your current system and buy another one.

Do a search on hardware mod and you will find all kinds of information on it. Good luck.

I got my Gateway today and own a 3DS XL on 8.1 firmware. I will read the new manual and the guide on the official support forums.

Apart from that, which things should I do in addition?

1. Example: Unlink my SysNAND/emuNAND.

Any other things?

PS: Has any way to keep my savegames emerged?

Make sure you make a backup of sysnand befor setting up emunand.
Make sure all your eshop games work in emunand before you format sysnad to unlink.
Make emunad backup with emunand tool right after you create it and again after you update it to 9.5. If you mess up emunand you always have a copy even if Nintendo moves on the higher FW that GW does not support yet.

Backup, backup backup. Takes extra time but can really save you headaches if you screw up

Quick question:

I saved my "Nintendo 3DS"-folder before dumping SysNAND/creating EmuNAND/formatting SysNAND (unlinking).

As you know, there are cryptic folders within the "Nintendo 3DS"-folder.

____________________________________________________________________________

Before formatting etc.
Nintendo 3DS\aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa\11111111111111111111111111111111 => I saved this folder to my PC. This is my original SysNAND-content.

After formatting
Nintendo 3DS\aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa\22222222222222222222222222222222 => EmuNAND-folder

Nintendo 3DS\bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb\33333333333333333333333333333333 => SysNAND-folder, which we can ignore.

____________________________________________________________________________

How do I get my eShop-stuff back?

Do I copy the dbs, extdata, title from 11111111111111111111111111111111 into the new folder 22222222222222222222222222222222?

Or do I delete 22222222222222222222222222222222 and replace it with 11111111111111111111111111111111?
