Hacking Likelihood of breaking circle pad and other questions

I've heard that smash will break circle pads on the 3ds. Is this still likely with a new 3ds xl? If so is there any modding workaround or anything? Also, what is the likelihood of someone releasing a modding solution for the most recent firmware?

If you are putting to much pressure, of course, that it will break.
And you can hack any firmware you want.

Software doesn't break analog sticks, violent players break analog sticks (which are the same across all models)

There's already not one but three (hardmod, ntrboot, DSiware - this one with multiple variations on the theme), and they're unpatchable, which greatly reduces the interest in finding a fourth way based on a patchable 3DS-mode exploit (which is not guaranteed in the first place to exist, although one probably does)

Solutions include soldering a GameCube controller to your 3DS to input redirection from a gamepad plugged into a PC. I was always concerned about stuff like this but the only thing to happen was my "A" button was smoother and the click was softer after 5000 hours. I've dropped my O3DSXL on concrete many times with only scratches, no chips. It's designed for child resistance.

"Above" 11.6 is hard since they don't exist

But yes, 2 of the 3 methods (ntrboot and hardmod) I mentioned work on ANY version (and for ntrboot, including "no version at all" - maybe you have a fully bricked console)
