This works great! It looks just as good as it does on any DVD player, the sound is good if a little quiet, but can be fixed if you just turn your TV up. Now, it seems my little PS2 has no use...

Damn...why does the video playback is so small on my tv

So, when do you think homebrew applications will be released using this?
Devs are probably working on it now.

I think a ISO Loader in maybe 3-4 days.

I wouldn't say 3 or 4 days. Maybe a month or two.

I tried a burned DVD it worked fine. Audio was out of sync, though that may have been the DVD's fault.
What format and what did you burn it with?

I'm not sure I just found it on the side. Most likely a .avi though. I burn things with Toast Titanium (mac) But I think you have to burn it into a format where it isn't .avi/mkg/??? but a proper DVD format.

the Wii was designed with the DVD playback in mind. That's why these calls that libdi use exist. Anyone who claims that DVD playback damages the lens says so without any proof that this is the case.

Yes it's ridiculous people are saying that playing a "DVD-Video" will wear out the laser but not a "Wii Game Disc" because the laser is constantly reading the data off a DVD-Video. Yeah, I'm sure games like MP3, SSBB, MKWii loads everything into memory including stream VIDEOS and AUDIOS/MUSIC.

Anyway, this is great. I wish the next "fix/feature" is a functional DVD menus and browsing using the wiimote to point-and-click. Not all manufacture/pressed DVD mastered the main movie on title 1 *coughsonycoughdisneycough*.

i have a Wii with a Modchip installed. i am running firmware version 3.3U.

if i install Patchmii will i be able to play trucha signed discs without running them through Geckoos?

also, to install Patchmii i make a folder called Patchmii in my apps folder and run the renamed boot.dol?

lastly, if something were to go wrong with Libdi or Patchmii can i uninstall them? how would i do this?
