?? - 100% Working, installation, backup, boots up to the bootmii screen on startup
?? - Partially working, usually can't start bootmii at startup
?? - doesn't work at all
?? - has issues in windows after bootmii formats it - but this seems to be very rare

This is what I have and how things work for me with all my cards

- All 3 Cards run homebrew just fine from the HBC

- KINGMAX Micro SDHC 4GB - BootMii installs from it, it can read the card and backup the NAND to but doesn't boot from it at Startup
- Apacer Micro SD 512MB - Bootmii boots from it at startup, didn't try backing up the NAND because the card is too small
- SanDisk Micro SDHC 8GB - Bootmii boots from it at startup, NAND backup was successful, Homebrew from wht I've tried seems to run well, I'll make this my new Wii card and use the 4GB KINGMAX for the DS, this used to be my DS Card.

Other user's cards:

- Kingston 2GB SD - works 100%
- Sandisk 2GB microSD - works 100%
- sandisk ultra 8gig SDHC - 100% working
- Sandisk 4GB SDHC class 2 - working 100%
- pqi 2gb microsd = can't be read on the pc after nand dump
- fake sandisk 1gb microsd = 100% working
- 2Gb Sandisk SD - 100% perfect.. Nand Backup Without problems
- Trancend 2GB - working 100%
- Buffalo 8GB SDHC Class 6 - No apps shows in HBC.. (could be a problem with HBC 1.0.2)
- Lexar 2GB MicroSD with Lexar MicroSD Adapter - Works 100%, can be read in Vista after NAND backup.
- Transcend 1GB - working 100%
- Maxell SDHC class 4 8GB - work perfect
- SanDisk 1gb Ultra II+USB(Folding card) - DOES NOT WORK TO LOAD BOOTMII (I assume this can be read by bootmii and HBC but doesn't boot bootmii much like my KINGMAX)
- SanDisk 2gb Micro - WORKS
- 2gb Polaroid - 100% working fast bootmii load!
- HP 2gb SD card - works 100%
- Kodak 2GB SD - Works for launching bootmii from boot2. (nand dump untested).
- PNY 1GB SD - Works for everything (including nand dump).
- PNY 2GB Optima SD - Fail.
- Lexar 1GB SD = Works 100%
- Lexar SDHC 8 GB - doesn't seem to run bootmii at startup
- kingston 2gb micro sd - boots bootmii, won't save NAND Backup, reset and power buttons dont work
- Veoh SDHC Class 6 - 8gb 100%
- 1gb sandisk micro sd - works perfect
- Kodak 2GB SD Card (No SDHC) - Install successfully, after install hackmii is unable to flush log and mount file system. No bootmii screen when rebooted with SD card in (FAT32).
- Kingston 4GB SDHC Class 6 - working 100%, (2 second boot time).
- 256 MB SanDisk - 100% minus nand backup due to size.
- 2 GB Dane-Elec SD card - 100%
- Lexar 1gb Micro - WORKS 100%
- Sandisk 1gb - WORKS 100%
- Transcend 8gb Class 6 SDHC -can backup fine to it, but cant boot into bootmii from it, also it locks up the wii on bootup 1 in 4 times or so
- Lexar 2GB SD Card: - cannot run bootmii as boot2 but can be used for restormii
- Kingston 2GB SD Card: - everythings works, and fast
- Panasonic 512MB SD Card - bootmii as boot2 is very slow to boot.
- Team SD 2G - Works but takes 20 secs to boot BootM
- Microcenter 2GB MicroSD
- transcend 133x 2gb - installs fine, won't load bootmii
- transcend 4gb microsd sdhc - work great instantaneous boot to bootmii

For these two it might be the SD Adapter, what kind of Adapter is it?
SanDisk UltraII Mini SD 2GB (In SD Adapter) *Not Working*
Transcend Mini SD 1GB (In SD Adapter) *Not Working*

Sandisk Ultra II - 1GB*
Sandisk - 2GB** - (if it boots to bootmii at all)
Viking - 256MB**
Viking - HighSpeed - 512MB**
Kingston Micro SD - 1GB**

* = (1-2 seconds boot time)
** = (10-12 second boot time)

Trancend 2GB - working 100%
Buffalo 8GB SDHC Class 6 - No apps shows in HBC..

Edit: It seems to be a SDHC problem with HBC 1.0.2

good to know that most cards work fine, I dunno why some people's SDHC cards don't work with HBC 1.0.2 both of mine work just fine, though I don't have the run Bootmii option in HBC.

If it matters when I click the Home button in HBC it says 1.0.2 and IOS55 18.21 I think it's 18.21, will have to check later

Bootmii works great with SDHC but not HBC 1.0.2 (HBC 1.0.1 Worked):

SanDisk SDHC Extreme III 16GB (20MB Edition) - Doesn't Work on HBC 1.0.2 with IOS61 19.xx

Confirmed bug from hackmii.com

some SD cards have large blocks and thus not working properly if formated with cluster size smaller than its internal block size.
I have one 512MB SD card which works perfectly with FAT16 (32kb per cluster) but fails on FAT32 (4kb per cluster).
It's easy reproduceable in windows.

so, i think, incompatibilities comes from SD card block size. Need to look which cluster size used in bootmii formater.

1gb micro center - 100% works long load time for bootmii and gives computer BlueScreen of death after nand dump but after restarting the computer it can read it

seems we got another card that won't load bootmii at startup there
wonder what's up with that since at least my KINGMAX is read by bootmii and HBC 100% but it doesn't boot at startup.

Do SD Cards have different startup times like hard drives? If so that might be the problem.

    Ps5 emulation? Why
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I always thought Saturn emulation would straight up be impossible
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Just the atchiture is insanely complex
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
That's why it annoys me when people rant about things being impossible when it comes to software some things should just be focused on more than others
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
because they want to flex their insane developer skills ofc
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
We have ps5 exploits where's an article talking about ps5 emulation?

if i wanted to play gb games on a touch screen device i would just use my phone

    heres ps4/5
emulation (it is far from playing actual games yet but its something) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qe71pCjC9U
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I thought PS4/5 and Xbox One emulation would be kind of easy since they basically just a PC
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    they sorta are a pc
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They haslve dedicated on board chips that aren't tweaked like x64/x32 afaik
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
but its a custom os for both of them
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
    designed for only specific hardware
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
so you have to learn to emulate that specific hardware which isn't as easy as you'd think
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It's a locked down Linux distro basically
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think the only custom hardware is to do with the SSD and a security chip
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    Probably combined in one chip
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
They place married security chips onto boards iirc
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Damn Frontier is offering 5Gbps now lol
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
I honestly can't recommend any of the big 3 this years I'd say buy a rog ally z1 if we're being honest
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Honestly after the PS3 and 360 I just went full PC
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Every games basically cross platform they only have about 6 titles making it worth the $600 price tag
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Didn't see much need for a console, all the advantages have kind of disappeared
  • ColdBlitz @ ColdBlitz:
the ps3 used to support installing linux because the cpu was so powerful
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Then the games are $70 and they want to reboot and refresh the same game every year
