With a Switch 2 reveal hopefully on the horizon, the question is how much will Nintendo ask for the base model at launch and what will their launch offerings be?

Analysts have previously predicted that the Switch 2 will be somewhat of an iterative upgrade, which would be unlike Nintendo's past strategies that famously involved a radical new approach such as the dual screen Nintendo DS, Wii with its motion controls as well as the dual screen Wii U to name just a few. But if we know Nintendo then we're sure there will be a curve ball somewhere in the mix!

While an initial price of $400 USD was also previously estimated, the recent surge in component prices as well as the general cost of living; could we perhaps be looking at at $450-500 USD handheld from Nintendo?

Also, what of the launch titles and offerings? How will Nintendo sell and promote the Switch 2? What games will be available at launch? Will we see a new Mario title ready for launch or perhaps Metroid Prime 4 with Switch 2 enhancements? These are all questions that we're eager to know the answer to.

To take a look back; the Switch released back in March of 2017 at a suggested MSRP $299.99 in the United States, £279.99 in the United Kingdom, and $469.95 in Australia with similar regional pricing across EU regions. It launched alongside the critically acclaimed TLOZ: BOTW as well as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe a month later with other heavy hitters such as Super Mario Odyssey coming later that same year. It was a hugely successful launch but was plagued with supply issues, scalpers following the huge demand. The success of the Switch helped bounce Nintendo back to fame after the poorly received Wii U.

Name: Incredibly unlikely but I'm gonna say Switch Advance just cuz i think it sounds cool. I actually do wonder if they'll keep "switch" in the name or if that'll just create another Wii U situation.
Launch Price: I'm thinking around $350 honestly. I'm not sure this new system will out-perform the Steam Deck, so trying to sell it for the same price or higher would be a big ask. Then again they could totally get away with $400 because Nintendo
Release Date: I'm guessing a similar timeframe to the original Switch. If I had to give an exact day, March 7, 2025.
Launch Titles: I think a new 3D Mario game is likely. There's definitely not time to prep a new 3D Zelda and I'm guessing Metroid Prime 4 will be a holiday title. I'd also guess a new big multiplayer title, maaaybe Mario Kart? It'd be too soon for a new Mario Party at least.
Other Predictions: Given that everyone's calling it the "Nintendo Switch Successor" and not "The Next Nintendo Console", I think backwards compatibility is a given. Maybe new-gen cartridges will have a little notch like 3DS games did. Hoping for a less stripped-down OS this time (themes please please please), but I know Nintendo is afraid of exploits so I'm sure they'll keep things boring again.

Name - Switch 2. I don't think they'll do anything crazy with the title after the Wii U, and they want to ride the Switch hype train as long as possible.
Launch Price - $399. Enough money for more powerful hardware while still being affordable.
Release date - late Febuary/early March of 2025. I think it'll be announced by October of this year so people get thinking about it.
Launch titles - The next 3D Mario, Splatoon 4, maybe the new Mario Kart game, Metroid Prime 4. TOTK will get a patch to run at 1080p60 or higher at launch.

Other predictions - 1080p60 LCD screen, 256GB internal storage, MicroSD card slot. I have more but I don't feel like writing them all out.

It will target 1080p 60FPS with graphic quality reminiscent of the PS4 Pro.
It will probably support AI upscaling to 4K in some games, but I believe it will actually prioritize 1080p 60FPS with modern graphics that might be upscaled from a slightly lower resolution.
I believe it will have an IPS 1080p display for portable gaming. Regarding shape and controls I believe there will not be much change compared to the current switch.

Launch titles: all kind of stuff I guess, many of those games will run both in current switch and in switch 2 with improved graphics.

my hard read is that they're going to bring the cameras back. No big innovations that anyone will care about tho. Maybe some simultaneous dual-screen mode like the Wii U but it doesn't seem realistic from Nintendo.

Joysticks will be way different and less crunchy. Also the joy cons will have the slightest tiniest ergonomic bump added to the back of them. The rails will also be completely redesigned meaning that you can't use old controllers with them, they'll also straight up abandon the crappy + - joy-con straps.

Launch price of $349, 7 inch 1080p display, and it'll have a more angular design than the current switch. April 18th 2025 launch date. Will launch in distinct colors to separate it from the old switch

Well, it's actually hard to predict, but with simple analytics and research about patents it's possible to predict how much likely it may be looking when it will be released.
Name : It's actually,a hard question. In any case, it not will be a Switch 2. When Nintendo made a new console they sometimes just slightly changing the name, to describe how much it differs from other consoles(Example Wii - Wii U, DS - 3DS, Nintendo Entertainment System - Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy - Game Boy Advance etc.), So it might be DoubleDS(read any other predictions if you want to know why), or something similar. Or,if they really made a more powerful switch - Super Switch.

Launch Titles : Afaik, the data miners found some alternate buttons in Super Mario Bros wonder, so it's possibly that at least that game will be on a new console.I do not sure about other IPs, but i think there be some ports of the games.
Any other predictions : Well, i just don't think they will just make a same product, but with a better cpu again. The Nintendo always adding new features in the newer consoles. They always added something new, that developer WOULD like to use. For example, they made a game boy color. The game boy color was actually pretty late. After GBC, they made a game boy advance, with more colors and 2 new buttons! The most important, that everything that was made in GBA was actually an upgrade. Nintendo always experemented with gear and added more features. Nintendo wasn't making an exactly the same thing twice! If i look into some patents, it can be a DS sequel, with two touch-screens. But, i am not sure. I am suggesting from a patents and what they already done, It's more likely that the new console will be something new. I am don't sure about just a new switch with a better capabilities. But it can be that.

HDR-capable IPS display; do not expect OLED as it's still quite a bit more expensive to manufacture/produce. 1080p in handheld mode this time around. Old Switch titles still play at their native resolutions, possibly with enhanced performance/framerates.
