Okay I know the idea sounds really silly. But from previous scams on EBay, and other sites I thought of adding a "legit" bar on the forums.
No not this bar;
A progress bar going into the negatives, and positives.
Useage;
The useage of this is to collect previous complaints from users whom have had something shipped to them that was in bad condition/good. Without the author stating it is in bad condition, and selling it. Will lead to negative legitamacy, while informing users about the product, and having it sucessfully shipped to them in little/no damage in the process you get positive.
This is to see, and understand who we can trust whom is selling products on the forums. Without the risk of having any potential money wasted, and have to deal with legal stuff if shipped incorrectly, and such. (It gives you the users reputation.)
List of Negative Impacts on Rep:
- Previous Scams to users
- Negative Feedback from your Buyers (With Valid Proof)
- Problems with previous shipments/mailing, to others
- Selling illegal items/things agasint the rules on thread list
- Selling things for an extremely over priced rate based on demand for item. (For ex; Selling an SD Card for $1000 that's 1GB of memory, and saying it's the best offer.)
- Lying to moderators
- Rule Breaks continuelessly
List of Positive Impacts on Rep:
- Recent successful transactions
- Positive feedback from your buyers (with proof)
- Sucessful shipments/mailings with little/no damage (unless the item is a bricked IPhone let's say. Having it damaged even more than what it was in its normal condition would be considered scamming.)
- Good/Moderate price of device, or item you are selling
- Good reputation with staff (little warning points)
- Good reputation from buyers
- Following all rules, and breaking maybe 1 - 2 every so three months (meaning if you break a rule 1 - 2 times you will not lose rep. But if you do, it after 3 you will lose rep.)
How will this be managed?:
Edit:
In the case you disagree with this part. I thought the complaint system could be possible to completely remove. However there may be inaccurate warnings for legitmatcey...
Pretty sure you had this question in mind ever since you clicked on this thread.
This is where the very trusted mod's/admins will come in for their duty's, and find out what is wrong.
In the event a scammer has scammed you. You are able to report them VIA PM to a TRUSTED Mod. Do not use the report button.
Next fill out these details;
- What is wrong
- What is the current item condition (include pictures if possible.)
- Do you have proof of the delivery (include screenshots of transactions, or providing where it was originally shipped.)
- Who was the previous owner of the device, or item?
- Please include the thread.
- If possible please include conversation buying item. (This should be a PM, or on the thread.)
(Note: Faking that someone scammed you, or slandering on them may be illegal, and may get you banned from the forums. Don't do it...)
The mod will come to the conclusion eventually to ban the user for a few days if discovered it was a scam, if nothing was a scam however some "minior damages happend", then you will lose some Rep from a scale of -5 - -10 points.
Point System:
The point system will indicate if you should trade with certain users. -100 being the worst, 100 being the best, and -20 - 30 being in the neutral area (You are okay to trust.)
That being said points can either be given from Mod's, or taken.
An example would be delivering an item in good condition, with no damage. That would be a positive
A negative would be having it broken in the package completely.
I will go on with this more. But I don't have a lot of time. I will go over more later
Exceptions;
Exceptions are minior flaws that have to do with delivery. Sometimes a package could be easily broken by the people you asked to send the item to (or company.) Or things may have happend along the way. Maybe someone stole it during the delieverly.
In the case this happens. Not a lot could be done to resolve it. However if you want to lose less reputation in the event this does happen, I would recommend you talk, get involved and try to address the issue.
An example would be if a 3DS Broke on a delivery. Try to help them fix it, or if it has warranty, tell them to send it into warrenty. If that's not possible refund them that way you can raise reputation. The person who had then recieved that 3DS will have to return it from where it was from if they got a refund. Not doing so will result in either legal things, or a forum ban. And by a refund I mean a FULL refund.
Another example would be putting a lot of wrapped packaging in the delieverly to prevent damage to the item shipped.
Doing things related to this may lower/raise your reputation miniorly. Since you took the time to package it correctly, and send it. It shows you actually care about the person getting the device, or item.
What do you guys think?
