Lawbreakers and Radical Heights Developer Boss Key Productions Shuts Down

Following the commercial flop of both "Lawbreakers" and "Radical Heights," Boss Key Productions is no more. Headed by the notorious Cliff Bleszinski, known for his work on "Unreal Tournament" and "Gears of War," as well as for his crass comments on the game industry, Boss Key Productions set out to carve a new niche in the Hero Shooter genre, but was ultimately unsuccessful due to high marketplace saturation. Their latest project, the Battle Royale-style shooter "Radical Heights," failed to gain traction due to the overwhelming popularity of "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" and "Fortnite."

Cliff Bleszinski announced the closure in a statement on Twitter Monday morning, thanking fans and vying to spend more time with his family. He also noted that Radical Heights servers would remain online for the "near future."

Was Cliffy trying to change the shooter gaming niche by pumping more shooters? I thought the guy was a bit more intelligent than that. He could at least develop a different game, to show people that he could do something else other that pewpew games.

The games he designed were actually good. Too bad it didn't hit the market or attracted enough people towards it.
Or maybe his designs just outgrew him. Just too many shooters currently on the market. You'd be lucky if you hit the jackpot.
