If it's not too much to ask, don't you think it would be better to make 2 different patches? One with the names of the pokemanz still all in caps and the other with only the first letter.

The japanese version didn't have those problems, so what he's doing is replacing the Japanese language files in the Japanese rom with English files from the US rom, thus making it in english and beating the AP.

I just wanna add that this was a really, REALLY good idea.

Though all Pokemon capture in the patched will still technically be from a japanese region game. This is a worthwhile project to accomodate those people who, for whatever reason, are incapable of playing the real game.

That lost its value after the carts stopped using special coloured plastic like rby-rse.

Can the patched rom be trimmed?

So true. Tbh, I definitely would buy the retail copy but I don't have the money. This is why I bought a flash cart.
