When you press X during lameboy and it saves, does it mean a save state or an actual save within the game. Like for pokemon if I save with X, will that save load when I press load on the main menu or do I need to load from another menu?
I'm kinda confused with Lameboy
Thanks!

Its not a state save. You still have to save in-game, but since Lameboy doesn't update the sav file automatically(Unless you open the menu to select a game), you'll have to press X to manually update the save file.

The save (acting just like a save for NDS game for an R4) is not a save state. The save is written into the xSD manually or when you leave to the menu. Manually = X
Leaving Menu = L + R shoulder buttons.
