What Qyriad said tells me this has become a "he said/she said" debate, so this will never have any true resolution between the two sides unless we get cold hard facts/numbers or an unbiased third party (however unlikely I find those to exist) or both.

A researcher of passion!
Github: https://github.com/ktemkin?tab=overview&from=2012-12-01&to=2012-12-31

SINCE 2011!!!!

Her Twitter: https://twitter.com/ktemkin?lang=de

Look at the background.......do you know what that EQUIPMENT cost?! (And i'am positiv that she has much more cost intensiv tools ;))

Now in 2017 and 2018 she is working with the Switch team after Fusée Gelée ! And all are thinking they know her and why and what she is doing!

IF and only IF she did something wrong she should be judged........and that should be done by people who know what they are talking about!

PLEASE STOP THOSE NONSENSE.................PLEASE

Right, but as I said earlier, whether Kate or Michael is to "blame" really depends on if NVidia knew about the exploit or not and what this "evidence" is that Kate said that they did.
To me the whole debate rests on these facts.
So ktemkin submitted the bug without telling ScriresM or any of the team? If thats true then a lot of this could of been avoided if she talked it out with them first, especially if it wasn't ktemkin that discovered the bug.

Even if NVidia knew about it, it still is not right to submit it without telling them, especially a big decision like submitting a bug to a big corporation. And why did she submit the bug in the first place if not for a reward? Why would anyone submit bug to them? This story is kind of hard to follow along.

I have to admit, I was adamantly against SX. To be honest, I still am. However, in light of all of this, I kinda wish I had bit my tongue and just spend the 30 bucks or so. Still might. Either way, explosions in hacking scenes are normal. I just have to decide if I'm patient enough to wait it out.

It's not about SXOS's capability of running backups, it's the homebrew enabler part witch is fairly stable and even free as well.

Yeah, and right now there's some Twitter loser who is trying to tell me that "she did a favor", and that "exposing exploits is far more vital than hacking a console" lol. Some people are just dying to be tattletale know-it-alls. It sure as hell doesn't benefit the end user.

Don't take Twitter trolls to heart lol. Anyway, they have a point, from their perspective. You don't have to agree, and I don't think many would, but in the name of security and stability, lots of people would prefer any and all exploits be taken and submitted to Nintendo to prevent homebrew. Some people just think homebrew is the root of all evil.

I don't mind opposing views, but what really pisses me off is when these people try to shove their agendas down our throats.

Hi SciresM and team i'm going to submit the bug. Why? So they can fix the bug of course silly horse. I'm not doing it for money at all.
I just want to be a savior to all Anit-Hackers out there.

I'm not anti hacking. And how bad is the bug? Does it negatively affect the common masses? I have no idea what the bug is about.

what is odd about this is im pretty sure at one point she mentioned not wanting to make a profit from any of this and that she had submitted vulns to nintendo and nvidia for free in the past? pretty sure she said that somewhere correct me if im wrong

Ya sure about that? Can you tell me what the bug is, how it is exploited, and what it has access to? No? While I don't agree with using the bug as a proof of concept for her submission without getting consent from its finder, any bug that is found and squashed is beneficial. What if you go out and buy a spiffy new device that isn't patched for that bug, and it turns out it allows hackers easier access to your private data? Still gonna shrug and say "eh, leave it"?

I haven't been following along every step of this story. And I have no idea the extent of the bug and if it negatively affects the common end user.
If it doesn't affect common people, and if not for a reward, I don't see a point to submit a bug to them.

Kate may or may not have done anything wrong, we don't know all the details and we don't know what evidence Kate had that NVidia and subordinate OEMs already knew about the bug. I think it's pretty clear to everyone involved right now that she was not "in it for the money."

That being said, SciresM is acting like a little bitch. Rather than banning anybody who questions his actions, including other members of the team, he should be giving rebuttals and answers.

But I guess he's a "lawyer", can't get him to testify against himself lol... I think his actions were made in haste, and he's too proud to admit that he's acting childish. Even if he's right, and Kate did violate the team's trust, there's a right and wrong way of doing things.

seems kate claims to not have submitted it for money but admits she wrongly did submit a pixel c bug someone mentioned that she shouldnt have been called out on it or publicly denounced from re switched the way she was however i think if it were my discovery and someone of the same team without my approval submitted it in any capacity id want to publicly display my disappointment aswell

Wait, so it was an accident...? Seriously?
