The idea of submitting a bug for the PIXEL C, a product Google discontinued a year ago and sold exactly five units of and truly does not give a fuck about, is super funny to me.

Right, but as I said earlier, whether Kate or Michael is to "blame" really depends on if NVidia knew about the exploit or not and what this "evidence" is that Kate said that they did.
To me the whole debate rests on these facts.

Not blaming anybody at this point. Would like to know this as well.

dont be a hypocrite. see it from the perspective of kate, being pinned as a sellout even though she said she received no compensation, nor did she disclose anything to anyone that wasnt already patched or known. if youre gonna take scires at face value, you have to do the same for kate.

You really don't know how the scene works, do you? Exploits are held off for the longest amount of time so that more and more people can be benefited. If they reveal the new exploit now, Nintendo will patch it soon after, even before mariko units come to the market. Didn't you follow the 3ds scene? Exploits are not open source projects like cfw, The TX stealing code is a minor thing in comparison to this

Not many 0-day exploits are released anymore. Paradoxically, if an exploit remains patched then it is likely to stay private.

A drama has at least two sides, and in order not to be biased I believe the previously posted tweets should be added to the OP in order to be informative enough (as in, e.g., the leak was related to a Pixel C bug report).

By policy, I myself don't trust anybody's word until enough evidence is presented.

I would say its greed personally, money can do a lot of good, and if the team had talked and came to an agreement that they would submit the report and split any proceeds that would have been fine, submitting other peoples work for the chance of getting a payout or building up your CV for future job opportunities is shitty imo, even if you try spin it as "oh I only shared his "X" so I could get paid for my "Z"

I would say its greed personally, money can do a lot of good, and if the team had talked and came to an agreement that they would submit the report and split any proceeds that would have been fine, submitting other peoples work for the chance of getting a payout or building up your CV for future job opportunities is shitty imo

I still think it's a dick thing to do, to let greed turn someone against an entire team of developers, "just because they can". No one who betrays a group or a person is worthy of any kind of respect.

I respect the fact they had the reckless disregard and abandon to actually go through with it, if what was stated was true. But it was a total jerk move. But again, they're just yoinking some code and submitting it at the expense of their online existence. Really, I think most people would have done the same.

Edit: 30 minutes later and no proof. My point is made. All of this is contingent upon hearsay and there is no condemnation to be made yet. When the facts are actually discovered and disclosed, then that is the time for judgments to be made.
