Right now I'm sitting on an excellent Burst Blade, that can be fused into Beam Claws with 6 stars Ranged, 4.5 stars Melee, +5 defense and +1 shaking.
But I'm holding off on doing that for just the minute, since that Burst Blade also has recovery effect +4 on it, right now I'm clearing chapters on 9.0 to try and get some good fusion fodder, to try and make the perfect beam claws.

Like the Beam Claws Idol says, superb range and homing ability, slightly lacking in attack power, but these things work so damn well for me.

I concluded that I didn't like blades...

While I didn't exactly dislike these, bow,cannons,and plams are my least favorite.

I have been using these claws lately.
Raptor claws

overall def+2 Heath+1 Running speed+4 Weakening+1

I think Staffs would have been my favorite weapons overall, if wasn't for the slow down in speed.

I concluded that I didn't like blades...

While I didn't exactly dislike these, bow,cannons,and plams are my least favorite.

I have been using these claws lately.
Raptor claws

overall def+2 Heath+1 Running speed+4 Weakening+1

I think Staffs would have been my favorite weapons overall, if wasn't for the slow down in speed.
I fused a rather powerful halo club with some other high ranking weapon I had (for the life of me, I can't remember which) to make a really powerful samurai blade. It was extremely disappointing in campaign, especially during the flight segments. Word to the wise: The samurai blade is much better suited for multiplayer.

That's supposed to be the beauty of the Phosphora bow, it's homing ability is so ridiculously good it's harder to actually miss!

Whilst trying to fuse an otherwise excellent pair of Beam Claws, I've managed to fuse a new pair that exceed my old pair in the mean-time.

The new claws so much better damage in Melee combos now, and ranged attacks are also a bit better. 3.6 continuous fire was upgraded to 4.0, which how rapid the fire is this adds up quickly.

I actually just fused myself a pair of pretty decent raptor claws. They're nice and beastly when it comes to melee attacks, but i still prefer my beam claws, personally.

That Meteor Bow has incredible defensive traits, but offensively it's awful. Enemies will take forever to kill with that damage output even if you're able to take a lot of damage yourself.
Your beam claws are good offensively, and I suppose the defense bonus offsets the health penalty.

I just fused a new pair of Beam Claws specifically for heart farming, and coincidentally when trying them out, I got the power Heart Booster Level 4.
Put em together, play through chapter 20 on intensity 9.0 and BAM, 62000+ hearts.

As you can see, it has nice damage output with its already superb range boosted, but is completely lacking in defensive boosts. I'm capable of clearing chapter 20 without any defense advantage though. Amazing specifically for farming hearts, try killing a Souflee on 9.0 with heart bonus +3 and heart booster lvl 4 engaged, it's beautiful.
Of course, when I'm not concerned with hearts though, the new pair I posted earlier are still my primary weapon, for better defensive and offensive capabilities.

Funny. I prefer to use a pair of Pandora claws. Overall def. +3 Heart booster 3. Ranged 6 stars. So I kill easily and it"s easy for heart farming. And as for the meteor bbow. HA Don't I know it. Although it's still easier to survive, and I can do most of the chapters effortlessly. XD

If the flying segments didn't kick my ass royally I would have atleast cleared chapter 4-12 on 9 by now. Dang lack of dodging.

Also Vamp, Bows, Palms and most (not all mind you) Blades tend to be good for Solo, while all the rest seem to have been added more for multiplayer and challenges then Solo use.

Grr... flying segments are such a pain. I finally tried the second chapter on 9 (only did chapter 1 so far), and got royally kicked...

killed once during the flying segment, and again during the Gaol battle. >.

Weapon modifiers count just as much as they do in air battles as they do on land.
For 9.0 runs ideally you want to make a weapon with high defense boosts, and possibly added health and added recovery effect (recover more health), and of course a weapon that can strike from afar, and deal considerable damage.

I hear staves are popular for being able to snipe from afar. In situations where you are in an enclosed space however this may not be as ideal.

So far I've cleared chapters 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 and 20 on 9.0. To be honest after trying chapter 20 on 9.0, 1 through 4 aren't even THAT hard.
