Hi everyone

After compiling a couple of guides, there's something I picked up.

From what I've read there’s basically three ways to Exploit the Wii U's Kernel(s?):

  • Easy way - (you need to load http://loadinne.ovh each time you restart or reset the Wii U)
  • Self hosting way - (best option:unsure:)
  • Self hosting way AND taking your Wii U off-line (not ideal, since you can't play games online then)

From the sound of it, the Self hosting way is the best.

Am I understanding this part in Wii U hacking guides, correctly?

Thanks everyone

CBHC has it's downsides, including BRICKING if you do something stupid. I like regular haxchi and have it setup on 2 games. 1 launches HBL, the other launches into the home menu. self-hosting only does you good at home. With haxchi, you can bring your console somewhere and not have to worry about it.

wait did you install haxchi on 2 games?

Ja, I also read of that potential risk of BRICKING if using Cold Boot Haxchi..

I would prefer not needing to connect to the internet in order to get to Homebrew, Home Channel, those things. I'd prefer an off-line way of accessing these. BUT I would like the option of being able to play games online and download more content, for games.

What is the safest, which will give me all of the above?

All your concerns will be answered.
Thanks, I've read through that guide many times already. I have some questions, hence this thread..

Ahhh honestly cbhc is fine, just download a ds game, keep it on the internal storage and exploit. I done mine months ago and all runs fine, I moved the ds title to the last page so nobody accidentally messes with it.

All is lekka months down the line bru

purchase a DS game > change DNS > install Haxchi > play online and injoy your life, as far as i know there is no report of bricking the wii u and no one was kicked from online.

Haxchi is the best way. CBHC is optional as it's somewhat risky (if you do something wrong like format the console or move/delete the title it'll brick your Wii U, the latter only being possible if you use fw.img or Mocha instead of the built in HaxchiFW) but Haxchi is perfectly safe and doesn't require internet once installed. You'll need internet once to install it assuming you're not self hosting, but that shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks for all the answers guys.

It's just with all these guides floating around on the net, I am not always sure what to use..

Anyway, what is actually meant with "self hosting"??

you'll have the exploit files on your computer. you can use mongoose or xampp to use them.

Basically obtain or create certain files which you load on a system such as the Wii U, in order to "open" certain options on the device?? Allowing you to do things, such as load games not exactly purchased...?

Correct?

"a software tool designed to take advantage of a flaw in a computer system, typically for malicious purposes such as installing malware." taken from Google..

the files needed are in @Kafluke 's guide or one of them anyway. you place them in, for example, xampp/htdocs/name of folder you dropped the exploit files in. then, on the wii u, you type in your ip address/name of folder you dropped exploit files in. as long as xampp is open, you'll be able to do this. it's like loadiine.ovh, yes. it gives you a list of options to use including using loadiine or saviine I believe. it's been a long time since I've used it. I'm currently using cbhc and have been for 8+ months.

It's basically using loadiine but instead if getting the file off the Internet via the website, it just gets it from your PC instead

Any option of simply "hacking" the Wii U, do whatever is needed, and then run the Homebrew, etc. without the need of some file, linked in your computer or some internet connection ALL THE TIME?

those are the only two options that I know of. you only need to use it once to install haxchi. haxchi requires you buy a ds game from the eshop. brain age is the cheapest.

OK, I'm aware you'll need to buy one of a couple of certain games in working through all these guides and such.

But AFTER that, will I each time need to connect my Wii U to some internet site or a linked file on my computer:wtf:

Yes, cbhc. You use the Internet once and then it's done.
Just install to the internal memory like we've said and you'll be fine.

I run all homebrew and have many games installed, online works fine as well as I play Mario kart every once and while

Basically it's a setup and go option. You never have to touch it again once it's installed

If I don't want to use CBHC, because of a BRICK risk, will I then each time have to connect to the net, or the files linked on my computer when I start the Wii U? Every time??
