Just fixed my Sega Mega CD so it was the right length cause it was too long had to cut it in 2 half's, Don't worry this is just the case of a Mega CD, there were nothing inside it,I got it for this reason... 
I did originally have my Raspberry PI in the Mega Drive part but then got the flashback and I wondered....If I could do it and if it would look OK and it does.
Here are some pictures for you to look at.
I do have leds where the READY and ACCESS lights are on the Mega CD but got to figure out where to put them on the MD flashback board cause they only need power to work.The front panel of the Mega CD is not real,I printed it out on my printer and put tape over it so it looked glossy and put it on cardboard so to strengthen it and cut out where the READY and ACCESS lights are.
