So I got a 2ds with firmware 7.2. I am getting cubic ninja for ninjihax soon, and was wondering what homebrew applications you guys would suggest. Also, anyway of getting emunand or dump the nand with ninjihax, no gateway?

Might as well update to 9.0-9.2 if you can, it eases compatibility with haxx.

rxTools can dump NAND and boot emuNAND without a Gateway or Ninjhax or OoT3D, just the web browser.

Lastly, as an owner of Cubic Ninja and Ninjhax, I've only used it as a novelty besides custom themes.

To answer your question literally, there's none that I know of -- but you can do both of those features through the browser exploit + Gateway's software, which doesn't require their card for these 2 features!

I'll just repeat your first question as I want to know too...

were you suggesting this in case he had cooking mama or is there a way besides using a physical cartridge?
Apparently you can run your own server that claims the 9.2 files are the latest available -- or something like this, I haven't read anything about it

i read that thread earlier, afaik its only for firmware 8.2 or something to go to 9.2. shame cause i'm on 7.2 too. and i really wanna get to 9.2

well if anyone does know a way, do share ^^

I never knew Vegata could be so knowledgeable about homebrew on 3DS
Also, rxTools just boots emuNAND? Or creates one?

For all I know, you need the gateway launcher to create emunand

Can't I just download a NAND from Nintendo? What I heard from rxTools. Then again, how could that be when NANDs are unique to every system?
And, how could I update to 9.2 without a game? Just got back from target for picking up Cubic Ninja, and don't want to get another game.

To boot emuNAND with rxTools, you use the firmware downloader included in the rxTools package to get firmware.bin from NUS, then you use the Gateway Launcher to create an emuNAND. After that, rxTools will boot the emuNAND.
Further questions about rxTools belong in the rxTools thread. I'm too lazy to link it, but Google finds it quite easily.

As for updating to 9.2, I'm pretty sure you can modify yifan lu's update server shenanigans to work with 9.2, but you might be fine staying on 7.2. I just said to update if it's convenient.

Yea, but I wouldn't mind some custom themes.
