It use incorrect journal size equal to save size. So almost every time (exclude new file writing) half of allocated space is not used.

store downloaded files on SD, not NAND.

Are you sure that is a bug? The cache journal size is set to 0 in the NACP for JD. How else are you supposed to know what to set the journal to? Setting it to the data size is a conservative solve.

Up to you if which method will you prefer. 'coz In the end, you'll be the one using it. :)

I can't force somebody to use their NAND if they prefer to use thier SD Card and vice versa. We're just helping you out.

Just don't complain if you're having trouble in making JD 2023 work for your unit. As we have already laid the warnings and steps for you.
I am using my NAND, as I use syscfw, but the majority of CFW users are going to be using emunand so even installing to "NAND" will be on the SD Card.
Either way, I haven't seen any reports of any issues with installing to the SD using Tinfoil. The only person experiencing "lag" and slowness was someone who was connected to the Internet, so I suspect that any long load times are due to people not using airplane mode and all the Internet checks failing while trying to play a song.

From my point of view 0 size is auto, so it should depend on content. So, largest file size + FAT size is enough. At least this works. Also, as you know, you can always increase journal size when needed.

It wil work, but it is not needed. To read back written files journal has to be commited, and after commit it is "empty". When game reads from save, journal is not used. Journal == data size is waste of space.

Are you saying that if I transfer the game to the sd, using the move data option from the settings menu of the switch, it will no longer work properly ?
Or will it prevent us from adding more songs in the future ?
This is not something that should be utilized in that way as this is a game exploit.

What's important is that CFW users can now enjoy Just Dance 2023 on their CFW units.

Choosing your own poison is entirely up to you. :D

Creating game saves can be problematic because the settings can be set at runtime. Your approach runs on the assumption that the game will have correct closed-loop logic to mange its own journal sizing. If this assumption is wrong, you could fundamentally break the game by causing game saves to fail to write.

I do not know which approach is the best, but I would prefer to err on the side of caution and waste a few GB on this one game.

Exactly bro.

Using a new feature of a homebrew where heavily relying in pasting dozens of files into the save folder has a chance of a hit or a miss.

Thus your success is also a 50 50 chance. :D

Best example of this can be directly seen on the attached video.

Probably when Ubisoft decides to include some of the online only songs for offline use.
There are 4 more songs available for offline use in Year 1:

Farfalle – Sangiovanni (Italy eShop exclusive)
Jamais Lâcher – Michu (France eShop exclusive)
Ubu Love – Naniwa Danshi (Japan eShop exclusive)
Vleugels – K3 (Benelux eShop exclusive)

Were one or all of these able to be captured in the next version?

This is something that is Region Specific. And currently there are no other songs included for offline use aside from the base 40 songs.

Correct, it might only be possible to have 41 songs in a cache save (for Asia, that would include the Naniwa Danshi song), unless there is a way to combine.
When taking the save backups, there is an option in the settings under Confidentially to disable promotional offers, this prevents the useless Just Dance+ 30 day promo offer from spamming. It may be useful to turn those offers off before backing up the save.

Sadly, we are not located in any of those regions. Thus, those songs didn't pop-up on the Song List.

It might also be only available via Online. Which is also the case on how Ubisoft implements exclusive songs via their Just Dance Unlimited service in past titles.

I'm Getting a no connection and asking to link my account to nintendo after following all the steps, any help is appreciated!

'coz you have downloaded v1. :)

Which should be the correct way as the legit game is also using your NAND Storage to save the Offline Songs.

Please make sure that you have more than 10gb of free space in your NAND.

'coz you need at least more than 10gb of free space in your NAND Storage. That's why Ubisoft had decided to make the game Online by default. As most of the Switch Owners have already consumed most of the free storage on their NAND.

I'm using the method from the google decode, setting the cache and such, I can get into the game but it says no connection and i can't do anything except it ask me to link to nintendo account.
**EDIT: I was putting the 00/01/02 folders into the cache.0000, etc.. Not the contents of the folders, that is why I had issues with it.

Sry for being stupid but i just dont get it. I tried the method from the base decode link but im stuck at the JKSV Part.
After i made the save file with the 0 Cache Index, i extend the save data with 400mb. and NOW is the part im stuck...
The next part says "And created Cache Index 1 and 2,set them cache size to 2000MB". But i dont see an option or getting the message to create index 1 and 2, and set the cache size to 2000mb.. Hope someone can help...

So what is the current best method at this point? Is the Tinfoil method via that store's shared save files the best for english speakers?
