New Characters may be a bit overboard... but we could always go alternative outfits or something like that. ^_~

Just a reminder to translators, for move names:

Kanji/Katakana = Romanization
Hiragana(or furigana as it shows in-game) = Translation

?? - Chidori
??? - Thousand Birds

Please stick to the guidelines set before >_< It's really hard to switch/fix every line that's like that...

@beautifulbeast
Is it possible to list all the translation guidelines on the main page of the translation site?

I think Mithrandir is refering to the manga/move description sections (piece.bin, chr_s_t.bin and chr_b_t.bin) : they are damn long and only partially done. The good news is that they are not that essential to game play (menu translations and basic gameplay in my opinion are far more important).

Wait you dont have access to the database, meaning youve never been to the site?

Having access to the site is not the same as having access to the database... that's why I said it would be hard (not impossible), since I could browse every single page and count what is translated and what isn't (on the other hand, having access to the database you can get the exact percentage with a sql query). I actually went to the site, and that's how I saw that less than 50% is translated.
And actually i would say around 80% has been translated.

According to the percentages in the page, 46% has been translated (and it should be less than that, since some files say it's more than 100% done, and some pages have less than 50 lines). Please correct me is I'm wrong.

I think for a start, menu, moves and the actual gameplay text should be translated. I don't think the story text should be translated because it would take too long.

Wow, thanks for taking the time to do the math, Mithrandir. I hadn't realized how extensive the project was, and now I feel a little sad that we're stuck at 46%. If only someone took the time to use the list we compiled and evangelize at those forums...

What information do chr_b_t.bin and chr_s_t.bin hold? I'm not sure if each line of text in the game is worth translating (at least right away). Just glancing at it, a lot of the lines sound like battle cries and short manga recaps that a normal player wouldn't care too much about.

If there are menu or tutorial text in there, that's another story.

edit: hmm...piece.bin looks like a lot of background information on the various manga.

It seems to me the most important things to get translated right away are Menus, Koma (names, types, support effects, etc), missions and tutorials. All of which looks like it's made good progress so far.

Do you have the patch with the current translation progress by now??

Cause, like a guy said up there, there is no absolute interest in translating the whole manga storyboards.

A partial translated patch, with tutorials, komas, characters and missions translated would be more than good to me! =)

I think the only essential files that still need to be translated ate komatxt.bin and tutorial5.bin. After those are translated there should be a patch.

Will you be releasing the 100% complete patch or will you release the Menu/Moves and the rest of the game play (non of that manga or story text) patch early?

@FAST6191:I've been looking through komatxt.bin, and I can't find the pointers. Could you tell me the address of the ones you found?

First translation requests, it seems I am on holiday come next Friday so things can happen then.

Mithrandir pointers in this game are a pain, this file especially.

There is a pointer table until 29b8

Arrange your editor to a 12byte window and flip numbers (32bit here)
Take the value below 29b8 (in this case 29ac) and subtract from 29b8 (giving c in the earlier example). Add this subtraction onto 29b8 to give a pointer (29c4 which is the start of a text section). Do it for the next one to get 29d0..... If you are going to try your hand I advise you get a spreadsheet app with hex support and recalculate that way (no automated app I have ever seen will pull this one off). At this time I am not sure what the rest of map does but it looks like an identifier chunk.

What you should see:
