If libnx gets updated to support it, for sure. If I have to do it myself, probably, but it's going to take time. Like I said in my previous post, the time investment is the problem. JKSV is a lot more complex than it may seem.
Being unfamiliar with these stuff, I'm not sure if "updating libnx" is something that happens often or something like waiting for GTA6 to get a release xD

What libnx is exactly, and how likely is to be updated?

Libnx is the library used for development of hb. You could say its the core for all hb

ChatGPT says it gets updated roughly a few times per year. Minor updates per Switch FW update and rarely some major updates.

May I assume JKSV needs such a major update or something? @JK_

I wrote an SDL2 C++ wrapper library with the original goal of having it be reusable for everything (JKSV, Avatool, biggestDump, etc). I reworked how it's structured entirely a couple of months ago and getting JKSV working with it again isn't trivial. We went from semi-C style API to full C++ wrapped.

Last time I tried, it worked… most of the time.

I'll be real, guys… the Switch is almost 10 years old. I can't support and work on this stuff forever. I've always wanted to make my own game, that's why I learned to program when I was younger. The more I keep coming back to this stuff, the more time I lose on that. Over the past month, I've been grinding in GameMaker (lol) to get a prototype up and running that’s reusable and not a nightmare to work with:

It doesn’t look like much and uses placeholders for everything, but that entire UI system is completely custom, as close to stack based as you can get, and took a long time to implement. That kind of work is almost unheard of for GameMaker projects.

I might start a group for my other projects if people want to keep up with them. I’m not saying JKSV is done forever, but it’s also not 2019 anymore. I don’t want to keep cramming everything I can into JKSV just to make it do everything. It already does more than I ever intended it to.

If people are interested in following the game or my other work, I’ll start a group. I was also working on Xenogears modding tools a while ago, for example…

Woah, this is huge news. I know the switch is getting older, but having something like this allows for some real cloud save automation finally. Thanks so much for sharing it. Looking forward to trying it.

& congrats on getting some time to do your own gamedev work :)

Better off writing your own zip code rather than using zlib for the sysmodule.

where can i find detailed instructions for all the features listed? i want to take my wife's saves off her switch and put them on mine so i can use the saves for new game+ etc. but i can't figure out how to import them. the import button doesn't do anything. i have her saves copied over to my root sd. i have each save in a zip and also expanded... how to get JKSV to import?

Highlight it and press Y?

Highlight it and press Y?

thanks for the quick response.
highlight what? where? pressing Y is to dump all user saves. i don't want that. my wife isn't a user on my switch. this was my point. pressing X on "me" (the mii of the user) brings up the Dump all for that user, Create save, create all saves, then the one i want: Import savedata. it does nothing. i can dump, create, delete but pressing import does nothing. that's why i need detailed instruction on where to put the saves from the other user/switch, how to import those saves from "wife" to "me" so they are now able to be used by "me" -- since she has never been registered a user on my switch, her mii doesn't show up on the switch for dumping or anything.
i just want to import another person's save data, convert it to my save data, load them so i can open a game and that person's save is now mine.

this person's thread is similar to what i want to do, except both of our switches are modded. is the reply they got what i should do? (i have no idea what Checkpoint is tho)
