Iron: I'd get a 15W Grounded Tip iron.
Solder: If you want lead-free, get an SnAgCu blend of solder instead, its better than the one you chose.

Wire: Thats good for data connections, I'd get 22AWG stranded for ground and power leads.

edit: added some links for you.

I just been to maplin today and brought an Replacement Iron Tip W027 for £2.19 then pick up Electricians Tool Kit for £9.99 from argos

It have few bit and bob you might need and an 30W soldering iron with crappy iron tip (just replace the iron tip)
- 15W and 30W soldering work fine.

I still have my 30wag wire called "wrapping wire" very thin wires perfect for xbox and ps2 modchip I used..

--------------

Just forgot to say, a friends of mine mod his wii with only an glue-gun - it work as long the wire touch the point
If you can't do iron solder you could try glue-gun (risk-free)

You could used that wire, if you're skillful in soldering.

Looking at that modchip and you probably understand why:

If you haven't solder before or a benninger...
recommended for smaller wires
