Hi guys!

It all started after I'd a failed jailbreak (although I succeeded at a later date) and got white screen. I manage to shut down my iPhone and turn it back on. However, it requests me to restore with iTunes. So I did so. Then, I realise that while restoring, at the "Verifying iPhone ... bla bla" part, my iPhone's screen turn white for a few seconds, before the Apple logo shows up and the restoring procedure continues. The restore process still succeeded, but I want to know if the white screen while restoring is normal, as I fear the white screen had got something to do with my failed jailbreak and had already broke the components inside the phone (since I'm an extremely paranoid person)

Thanks and have a nice day.

You can rest safely; the white flash is a normal part of the restore process.

Btw, can I know why there's this white screen?

I've got it when my jailbreak fail. Also, from what I've read on Wikipedia, the white screen (aka white screen of death) is mostly due to internal hardware/software error.

As you restore, the white screen shows as the device transitions to a "ramdisk" that carries out the restore process. Why this causes a white screen to briefly flash on the device, I don't know.

Geez. So the white screen does not always equivalents to software/hardware error. Thanks for your reply. Really appreciate it

I think Wikipedia means if the device gets stuck on a white screen.

But I digress... You're welcome, and I'm glad to hear everything's working fine!

You can buy it at any length @homedepot wire cutting area cheaper than buying preformed cable, but you have to put on your own ends/ connectors.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
I still like DTV but the wire wasn't long enough to reach the window still pick up 40 channels

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea me too, esp for local news, sports, or channel surfing. I get like 60 channels but there's like 15 shopping networks, and bunch other bs, religion, Hispanic, etc. I went thru and blocked most those on tv channel settings.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
There is 1 Hispanic channel I kept, sometimes they have soap operas on it, w scandalous clothed hotties, I just beat mute it.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Ah yes the Juan channel order 15 pairs of feet
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
I got this antenna but the damn thing has usb power right next to the coax plug and you can't actually extend it without usb extension the Pic makes the cable look longer than it actually is https://a.co/d/501IQf2
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Use a old phone/ USB charger block thing, plug into wall instead of tv usb. Use cheap extension cord if need.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
You still need usb extension because coax end cord is the same length
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Oh I thought you were gonna extend the coxial cable with another 10 footer
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
I am but you need both to make it work
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    I meant like this.

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
You don't have to use the tv usb, any USB 5v will power it. USB extention cables are not cheap either, so this would be cheaper way.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
The coax to the tv is at the same port as the power
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
All soldered into the pcb so you can't just unscrew it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Use a cable coupler to extend it from there.

  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Yeah but you have to have extension to usb also it's the same length basically
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
They're both on the same end
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Yes that's the goal but it still may not fit the wall plug from the window
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
    They're cheap anyway a 10ft usb cable is $5

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Your tv may also even have an option to turn off USB power when tv off, will save a little money on power.
  • AdenTheThird @ AdenTheThird:
Maybe it's just because it's two in the morning, but watching a conversation about TV power source logistics using google images and a paint app is fucking hilarious

Yea I'm on my tablet and using a lame paint app, it sucks. I'm too lazy to get out of bed and fire up PC.
