I’ve had this wii for maybe two weeks now with no issues. I modded it when I got it, but only installed wiisx last night. I played it a bit and turned off and had no issues.

Today when I got up and turned it on, the whole screen was like the white got turned up x100 and it’s making everything unplayable. Changing the brightness and contrast of my tv does nothing.

Could this be a wiring issue? I’m using all the wires that came with the Wii, I bought it second hand.

Very likely to be bad capacitors.
Test the same cables in another console and this would rule out if the problem is the console itself (bad caps) or if the cable has been damaged in any way.

Alternatively try Component/Wii2HDMI... if you're still getting the overly bright picture then definitely is a bad capacitor issue.

How to fix it? Disassemble your console and replace the 6 capacitors near the Video In connector.

Edit: I'm not sure if PAL signals can cause this in NTSC consoles, but I do know NTSC looks Black&White in PAL signals... not so sure though.
