Hacking Is this chip legit?

Hello!
I'm new to the modding scene, so I bought a chip. I couldn't find anything on the legitimacy, so that's why I ask here.

This is the chip. Is it legit?

legit as in how? if you mean by manufacture all of them are just made in china and there is no central company like in the TX days. it looks just like the ones i use.

Yeah, but is it an HWFLY/pico or some cheap knockoff (of the knockoff)

i mean there all really knockoffs lol. its a picofly as you can see the raspberry logo on the main chip (the rp2040). all the companies selling them in china are using the same board files so ignore the plus in the name.

I have used one labeled "Picofly Core" successfully. It has a boot button, but not a reset button. The AliExpress listings come and go. This time, the image in the listing showed "Picofly Core", but I got "New 2040plus" like yours. The only references to these I have found are within complaints of the chip not working or even bricking the Switch. Did it work for you?

Shouldn't make any difference once you've installed it, as long as you got the right chip for your model, then you'll be fine.

mine works, albeit it was on that one shit spacecraft-nx fork, so I had to update it. other than that it was perfect

I already did say, no problems so far, have been using for some time

The "New 2040plus" is working well for me. Probably not related to the chip variation, but just in case it's informative - I had a harder time soldering the v2 ribbon in comparison to the v1 I had with a "Picofly Core" chip. Maybe my hand was just shaky. It does seem like the cutouts for the capacitors were quite imprecise, though.

Yes, same here, albeit I did read the pre installed firmware was bad, and I did have to re-flash it.
