Gaming Is there any problem playing the DS lite using AC adaptor as energy source?

I mean not while charging the DS but playing directly using the AC adaptor (like a notebook), and I want to know if this damages the battery or shorten its life, if using a flashcard ( I am using Acekard 2i ) there are any problem. Thanks GBAtemp for opening this space for answer questions.

As far as I'm aware the best way to preserve a battery is to completely charge it and not charge it again until it runs flat. Also store it in a cool place as warmer places will cause the chemicals in the battery to react with each other more quickly (even while not in use). Flashcards tend to use about 10% more power than an original card including in sleep mode.

I think when you're playing the DS and the battery is in, the battery is the energy source not the AC adapter. And while you're playing, the AC adapter fills the battery constantly while you're playing. I think so because if there's no battery in the DS and you plug it into the adapter it won't switch on.
The Acekard (as far as I know) doesn't affect battery life much.
Anyway the answer to your question is: No you're not gonna damage the battery. Battery life decreases anyway over time, and there's nothing you can do about it.

@somedrunkenidiot: the new batteries that we use today function best if you do not let them go below 50%. running them down will decrease the life of the battery. the older batteries had a "memory" and if you drained it then charged it you would gain a longer charge each time after that.

I cant speak for the DSLite, but i have the original DS. I played it plugged in with the battery in for a few hours when i first got it (it was brand new). It was never the same after that =/ ruined it.

Also, if i recall (this was like, 2004-ish?) The original DS wont even turn on without a battery. Once on, it can be removed. but it doesnt turn on without one.

I think the DS Lite is "basicly" the same hardware, so.

But pretty much for anything (Except most laptops?) I would never suggest both charging and draining the battery at the same time.

About Another World answer I have question:
Charging the battery before get below 50% doesn't mean that i gonna to use more cycles of charging?
