Would the DS2 be capable of running a psx emulator like 'ePSXe' for example?

I know the DS isn't powerful enough to run one on its own but would the DS2's CPU make any difference or is there some other technical limitation?

I'm pretty happy with the emu's already out e.g. gba, snes, nes etc but a N64 or PSX emulator would surely be the icing on the cake.

Also do you think sometime down the line that we will be able to use the dsX86 emulator (great app btw) to run other console emu's that are only available for the PC?

Are you kidding me..... DSTwo cant even handle GBA or SNES with full speed for all games. PSX will never happen. 3DS will be powerful enough if it ever gets hacked.

The DS2's SNES emu isn't running fullspeed without skipped frames and people ask for a PSX emu. What's next? Saturn emu anyone...

It's funny because the first search result is this thread.

Load up the GBA version of Smashing Drive on NDSGBA. That's what a PSX emu would look like on the DSTWO. Would you really want that?

The DSTWO can't even handle snes emu. The 3ds might be able to do it. My hope is that with the 3DS we can finally have good sens emu.

I think 3DS emu is the "what's next" question.

No, there never will be.

The DS is not powerful enough to run such systems, even with the added power of the DS2. Manufacturing a card that could do this would take a lot of time and money, and all interest will be going to the 3DS upon its release.

I think PSOne emulation on the DSTWO is highly possible. Objecting with using the SNES and GBA emulator as a reason is mute because everyone assumes those emulators are optimized. For all we know, they were thrown together with errors fixed without actual time to improve portions of the code. If FPSeCE is able to run PSOne games on my junky 400Mhz HP IPAQ PocketPC, then I can see PSOne emulation being possible on the DSTWO, even if it doesn't run at an optimal level.

If anything, expect a N64 Emulator before a PSX Emulator.

Doubtful, because it would not only have to emulate the system (which is already more advanced than the PSOne), but emulate other things like the FPU (Floating Point Unit). The PSOne doesn't even have one of those.
