This is more wishful thinking but nonetheless, I thought I should ask.
Nope. It won't even pair.
Not at this time. Though Nintendo has said that they'll look into adding support for past controllers on the Switch. So potentially they might be able to be used with the Switch in the future.
I can't blame them for not making it compatible out of the box because how else would they sell their newer Pro Controller which imo is way better.
Nintendo wants money. And they will take it from you, using all the tools available.
Though the switch pro controller has new features.
The built in gyro for the Switch pro controllers are a godsend especially in Breath of the Wild.
New features? DO TELL!
Also are any of the joy con compatible with anything else other than switch? like a android?

UPDATE, works with my android.
I saw a post on reddit where someone had Joyless Cons connected to a PC.
I tried it on my android, it works, although it either has lag or connection problems but it does make inputs and sync no problem. So i'm kinda happy, if the switch game pad also works with android, i'll maybe buy one when the price goes down.
is the Switch Pro controller compatible with the Wii U?
JoyCons are detected as 2 separate controllers, Pro Controller is detected as one single unit, they all work with PCs, and apparently work with Steam.
Just tried to sync and no luck.
I've noticed that the Joy-Con controllers have an odd axis mapping when used on a PC. The thumbstick is mapped to axes 4 and 5, and it acts like a D-pad; the axes only show centered or extreme positions. I suspect there's some HID quirks that need to be enabled for analog readout as well as motion detection, not to mention NFC and the IR camera on the Joy-Con R.
I initially tried a wii U pro controller and it synced with Switch and showed the controller symbol but is non responsive.
Greetings guys. I own a Nintendo WiiU, and I want to know if the switch pro controller is retocompatible with Wii U. I'm interested to know because I could run with Nintendont.
If the Switch Pro controller supports USB HID, then yes, it'll work with Nintendont.
If it only uses USB for charging (like the Wii U Pro controller), then no, it won't. Nintendont doesn't support Bluetooth HID controllers.
Okay, but has someone tried to check it out?
I can help with what they need, maybe with a tutorial. Someone joins?
You can scan amiibos with it. And it has a a motion sensor. At least new to these kind of controllers. :-)
Someone has actually tried in this very thread. Like two posts before yours. Scroll up.
I will use the cone of shame, but first, I would like to know if they have tried it with Nintendont
Remember that some have tried it with emulators with a pc and it works
