Homebrew Is system updating safe enough?

Hi I'm currently on a (long) holiday.
I saw that there is a new system update for the 2DS XL.

Last time I Update the system it bricked and I hat to replace a file on the sd card.
Since I don't have a pc with me the only way for me to transfer files back and forth is via my phone (ftp).

Everything else is updated (Luma, GM9, bootstrap, etc.)

Is it safe enough to risk it.
Currently on Ver. 11.8.0-41E
