As far as I know the only risk to the wii is brickage during installing the custom IOS, but it installs as it's own IOS in the 200 range, so there isn't much of a chance of a brick at all.

not from brick as if my wii can break down or it will stop reading disks.... if thats true

Well, if you use bad media it may potentially increase the strain on the laser. But I haven't heard of any serious laser degradation issues due to using backups on decent media.

It's been asked many times. The answer, as long as you don't follow any dodgy guides, is NO. Backups do not wear out the lens. It's a myth.

However, couldn't you have just asked this in the other thread you madehere?

i only have 8gb....

You'd be surprised how many games that could fit.

I currently have Brawl and animal crossing on another 8 GB stick of mine. The games are scrubbed, and many of them can be as small as half a gig when scrubbed.

how to scrub and i dident know they work in usb scrubbed and are they on usb in win rar forms?

The scrubbing is done by the usb installer. You can use a scrubber on a PC, but that requires the common-key that I can't link to.

And no, they aren't scene rared or anything like that.

Actually as long as you have good quality media for the backups... I bet it's less harmful to play a dvd backup then an original... this is because backups read at half the speed.

They used to say the same crap regarding DC backups. Funny, as I have a Japanese DC I imported a few months before it arrived in the states and have been using it with backups since Utopia's loader and DOA2 were released...going forward to this very day

Yes, if you use them too much, your Wii could explode because of the laser use.
(No, but I've heard DVD+R put a strain on the laser.)
