Hacking Is my Wii safe to downgrade?

I have a Wii running on 4.2u hacked. I'd like to restore it back to normal because I'm thinking about selling it.

Now, I've read around that downgrading a console made in 2009 is dangerous. I got mine in 09, however, I don't think it was made then. The box says 2007 and the firmware that came with it was 3.x (don't remember exactly. Just the 3. part). Also, it's serial number starts with LU3864.

So if I decided to downgrade it to make it normal again, would I get a bricked system?

Absolutely fantastic! It went off perfectly. All the homebrew junk's gone and I reformatted my Wii. All is right again. Haha.
