Hacking Is it possible to use compressed roms in a flash card?

Like .Rar, .7z, or .Zip?
The reason I ask is because I only have a 2GB MicroSD Card and space will become an issue. Especially when 500MB roms like Pokemon B2 could easily become 250MB if compressed.
My card is the R4i Gold 3DS Revolution from nds-card.com btw, incase it matters.

Flashcarts that support compression usually only support the zip format.


Put a zipped up copy on your R4 clone and find out.

Then would it be possible to have the rom trimmed AND in a zip folder?

It wouldn't matter if it was trimmed or not.


Most people who keep asking for this feature seem to be those who don't want to spend 15 bucks on a 16GB microSDHC class 10. Or 20 bucks on a 32GB microSDHC class 10.

Btw I cant find out right now because I'm still waiting for it to come in the mail. I picked the $2 shipping so it'll take 7-35 days to arrive.
