ROM Hack Is it possible to load the backup of one cart into another?

using the gateway web exploit, I mean. Then you could turn any cart into Cubic Ninja (Not that I need more than one) instead of whatever game it's supposed to have.

Well, I have a copy of Lego Star Wars that I don't play, and if I put my Cubic Ninja on it instead, I'd have a spare in case I lost one.

I thought so too, but then I read about how some game carts, such as animal crossing, store the save data with the ROM data. Although those carts are far less common.
