Hacking Is it possible to jailbreak a 4.53 OFW PS3?

My PS3 has the OFW 4.53 (haven't checked but I assume because it connects to PSN) so I was just wondering whether it's possible or not?

I saw the usual type of video of "How to Jailbreak PS3 4.53" and then a topic about it on PS3hax (don't really like that community) but is that a legit CFW for OFW users?

I'm just curious and not planning to actually install it on my PS3.

Depends on the model, you might be able to downgrade and install CFW. Or you can go with ODE route.

I'm using a PS3 60GB fatty but by downgrade you mean using a hardware device to downgrade it?

Ah well, no worries I'm happy the way it is right now and I've been using it to watch anime DVDs rather than games at the moment.

You need to check the model number and see if it can be downgraded. Some can and some cannot.

I bought one off a friend for $70 and was able to get it downgraded for $50 and it's working great. Cobra 7 is pretty awesome.

Find your model in there and then look in the column to the far right. If it says 3.55 or lower you can downgrade and then install CFW.

If you have a super slim don't bother looking, they are not able to go that low
