Hardware Is it ok to swap motherboards with a different region 3ds?

My old 3ds' top screen died, and i wanted to change the case anyways. it is a US model, but i wanted to buy a japanese model and swap the motherboards. will the speakers, screen and cameras from a japanese 3ds work with a US motherboard? or am i wasting my time? its the lauch model 3ds.

so like if both models (japanese and us) are launch models? which they are. i have a launch model us motherboard and im looking at a japanese launch 3ds

The component are the same, you can do a board swap as long they are the same model, people have done it before.
