Well, to be honest, I'm a proud Proxy user myself actually. Of course, you need to be like, cautious in order to not get caught. But, there is a way at our school that actually "loggs you out", but the case your not! I will explain

1. start the computer, and logg on to the network
2.when started up, Keep pressing the windows button on keyboard (the flag thingy, start) together with the R button (Start+R) Keep pressing it, there should be a list of windows coming up, but keep pressing it, nothing bad will hapen.
3. Explorer will have a short time out
4. the explorer closed a certain kind of thing that makes the system admins aware of your presence on the network. In other words, you closed it, they don't know your on. The blocks will remain but...
5. Go to Google, and find yourself a good proxy. The case is that they cant see the website your accesing, so now it can't be blocked.

I'm not sure if it will work on your School, but it's worth a try of course. Remember that if you get caught with a proxy open, while on youtube, you will get banned from the computers of course.

At my school we can't do anything without getting caught instantly, because all the teachers, or supervisors, use some program that let's them see all our computer screens, and if were doing anything against the rules or off task, they just take control of the computer and close whatever we're doing, then write us a message in notepad telling us to get back on task. Or they just suspend our account.

Anyway, proxy itself isn't illegal at all, but schools probably want it to be, and unless your school has really crappy security, you'll end up getting caught, and your computer account will most likely get suspended.

I already said it IS illegal in the US for students to access unfiltered internet (as through a proxy from a filtered school network), it is just not really illegal for the student who actually does it.
It's Federal (national) regulation that can revoke funding from schools that fail to keep students "protected".

Getting banned by the school administration is one thing, but in the unlikely event that your school is audited for compliance and your actions are discovered, it could affect everyone who uses internet at your school.
