Hacking is GBA compatibility really that bad?

It's not that bad.. what games then are un-playable then ? Yoshis Isaland is the worse I come across, and even that patched properly is playable. (Useing the 'QPC method'+'manual pfpatch.exe'.. for fastest possible on SC)

I think it is more like over 95% compatable, those lists are useless, inaccurate and far from complete.

Ever tried Advance Wars 2 (crashes when you hit Start), Metroid Zero Mission (heavy slowdowns in the first vertical room and at bosses) and Mario Kart (slooooow)? These are only some.
Another issue with GBA games on SC is saving: You save in your game as you would do normal, but then you have to press a key combo to manually store the save on your flashcart. If you forget that then your save is lost.
I have an SC CF so I know what I'm talking about. I really cannot recommend it for GBA.

If you don't care about GBA, take the SCL. If you care about GBA, take the M3L (or G6L).

MarioKart when patched using QPC and manaul PFPatch.exe, runs OKish, but who the hell wants to play that ! when Mario Kart DS is a 1000x better ? I can't even bring my-self to put that on my card.

I will try Zero Mission later, using the fastest possible patching method. And I'm sure Advance Wars 2 was fixed ages ago, but I will also try that and report back.

edit.. yes you are correct about those 2 games I tried, I never tried Metroid Zero before and I'm quite staggered how crap it looks compared to Metroid Fusion, Metroid fusion runs with no slow-down too. I still couldn't bring my-self to try Mario Kart.

Metroid Fusion runs ok until you come to Boss, then you'll see slowdowns. And that's the case with most GBA games, you'll encounter slowdowns here and there, sometimes less, sometimes more.

Where can I get the PFPatch.exe?
