Hi,

I followed the NH Switch Guide and successfully homebrewed my V1 switch. It currently has emmuNAND set up and all that (I will provide more info if necessary).
As I was following the guide, I realized that I practically have to keep my Switch always on; I didn't like the idea of keeping the device always on since anything could happen.

What are the ways to keep my Switch to boot into Hekate without having to go through the entire tutorial again, in case my Switch dies?
Please keep in mind that my Switch doesn't have a mod chip.

You won't need to go through the entire tutorial to reboot a dead Switch. Just charge it for a little while and then send the payload. Make sure AutoRCM is always on, so you won't need your jig anymore.

For a bit more QOL: Just buy an RCM Loader from Temu, Aliexpress or similar sites, it allows you to shut down your Switch without needing to hook it up to a PC to send the payload.

It's good to know that I don't have to go through that entire thing again. But is there a way to boot into Hekate straight without having to send the payload again?

So in summary,

V1 Switch:
- no cold boot into Hekate unless modchip is installed
- can boot into Hekate without PC by enabling AutoRCM and use the RCM loader to send payload

Modded Switch:
- can cold boot

Is this correct?

Technically the modchip just injects the payload for you. So it aint "coldboot" in technical terms. But in laymen. Yes.
